那年盛夏，迷途之鯨殞沒於西貢的波光與鏡頭下。

其後陸續傳出有人死於非命，而她們的共通點是曾出海觀鯨，並在沒有水的地方溺斃，「怨鯨索命」一說不脛而走。面對這謎題，擁有「陰陽眼」的法醫蔣靜文醫生，於回港休假時被自稱偵探的靈媒慕容小姐找上，邀請她共同解決這案件。

總是撐著洋傘的慕容小姐與跟在她身邊的少年陰陽師，擁有陰陽眼卻受醫學訓練的蔣靜文醫生，三人的合作能夠找出隱藏在鏡頭後，在人性後，在浪花後的惡意嗎？

鯨落無聲，鯨泣無聞，但願再無生靈化成鏡頭下的玩物，再無生命化成槳葉後的血花。
