Boomy was wandering around the castle, looking for princess Catalina.
He couldn’t find her in her room or at the large forgery.
Boomy began wondering if something had happened to her.
He started to walk a bit faster, a bit scared for anything that could’ve happened.
When he nearly ran around a corner he bumped into Princess Catalina, making both of them fall.

‘Oh shit, my apologies princess.’ he immediately said, as he was trying to help her up, ‘i couldn’t find you so i was afraid something had happened.’
Boomy wasn’t sure if he saw right, but he thought he saw her blush.
‘Uh, i-i see.’ she said.
She shook her head and then asked: ‘Do you have it with you?’
All of a sudden Boomy remembered, he had taken some of Dori’s old clothes, seeing as she had left him a note saying she would be staying at her mothers house, so she couldn’t complain.
‘Yep, I’ve got a backpack full, so you’ve got a little bit of choice.’
Once Catalina dressed up like a peasant and removed all of her make-up, she got to realize, it wasn’t that hard to hide.
In fact, no one even as much as looked at her.
She noticed she preferred this much more than people being polite to her all the time.

After they had exited the city gates, she sighed, feeling relieved.
‘What’s up?’ Boomy had asked her.
‘Just happy to be out of there with someone else than someone from staff.’ Catalina said, ‘Well, technically you’re staff, but you don’t feel like the rest of staff, you know?’
Boomy chuckled a bit, ‘I am not servant, that’s where you’re right.’

A few minutes of talking later, they had approached Boomy’s house.
it was way bigger than Catalina would’ve expected from a peasant, ‘Huh, i guess my view of peasants homes are wrong.’
‘There is a very big, how do i say this right? Uhm, range in size.’ Boomy explained.
‘You see, there are people with homes comparable to the castle of a small king, but there are also people with houses that are the size of two carriages.’
Catalina was kind of shocked by this, not having left the coziness of the castle much.
‘Well, i guess that would make sense.’ she simply said.

Boomy grabbed his keys, but when he tried to unlocked the door, the pushing of the key was enough to open it.
Boomy opened the door carefully, grabbing an umbrella in the hallway for protection.
‘Catalina, stay behind me.’ He told Catalina
He felt his heart beating faster, but as soon as he entered the living room, he saw a teenage girl laying on his couch, asleep.
Boomy instantly relaxed.
After all, what could a teenage girl do?
She woke up slowly, sitting upright.
She now opened her eyes wide, and Boomy could see the fear in her eyes, and the dry tears on her cheeks.
Boomy said calm and collected: ‘Who are you, and what are you doing here?’
‘S-sorry, i just needed somewhere to sleep and i found this house empty.’
Boomy gave Catalina, who now stood next to him, a nervous look.
‘Okay, you know what?’ Boomy said ‘Tell me your story. Everyone has a story, right?’
‘Jup’ Catalina said.
‘Uhm, o-okay.’ She said as she started.

‘First, what is your name, and how old are you?’ Catalina asked as she seated herself next to the girl.
She hesitated for a second, then said: ‘I’m Faunna, I’m 12 years old.’

‘I ran away from home,’ Faunna said, ‘and needed a place to sleep.’
Boomy didn’t think of this as enough, so he continued asking: ‘Why did you run away?’
Her expression went angry, ‘My mom and dad are miserable, i hate them.’
‘Oh, don’t say that, I’m sure they love you, nobody always gets along.’ Catalina said, ‘The same was for me and my dad. But i know he loves me, and i love him.’
But then Faunna started talking.
‘My mom yells everyday, my dad is almost never home, but when he is, he is drunk and violent.’ Faunna told them, ‘My birthday is never celebrated, but my brother’s birthday is celebrated for a week, I’m pretty sure they hate me.’
‘Oh, that is awful.’ Boomy said, walking over to her and sitting next to her.
She looked down, ‘Yeah. I left a few days ago.’
‘Boomy, can we talk face-to-face for a second?’
Boomy looked at Catalina, seeing she almost cried hearing her story.
‘Sure, let me just get Faunna something to drink.’ Boomy said.
‘Okay.’

When Boomy came back, he saw Catalina hugging it out with Faunna.
He couldn’t help but smile a bit.
‘Faunna, I’ve got your drink here, and some bread, since you’ve been out there for a few days.’
‘Thank you so much, people always saw me as filth, even more so when i left. it’s nice to see not everyone sees me like that.’
Catalina pulled on Boomy his sleeves, ‘Can we talk now?’
‘Yes, let’s go.’

They went into the hallway, and as soon as the door was closed, Catalina said: ‘We need to find her a pair of good parents. I wish i could do it, but i can’t just do it because of the castle.’

Boomy chuckled and raised his eyebrow.

‘You know what? I’ll care for her here and wait until Dori gets back, which should be in a few days.’
