＂二十年前，仁皇殿震盪整個武林，順我者昌，逆我者亡。但是仁皇殿在成立後數年，就被鐵山河帶領著正義之師將仁皇殿連根拔起。＂

＂後來，武林上被人享譽為＂神農藥王＂的嚴瓊玉揭破了鐵山河的真面目。實情就是鐵山河在人前擺出一臉大俠的樣子，背後則控制仁皇殿作惡。而鏟除仁皇殿亦同是計劃之一，藉著鏟除仁皇殿，令正道人士拜服自己的仁義，邪道人士畏懼自己的威名，掌握武林的正邪兩道。＂

＂不過鐵山河不但計劃失敗了，而且更在自己的流水山莊被自己的徒兒楊寶殺害，而武林上被楊寶所殺的人更不計其數。後來嚴瓊玉和他武功高強的伙伴於集武塔討伐楊寶。＂

＂可惜，嚴瓊玉因為年老，吃了楊寶幾下重擊之後傷重身亡，嚴瓊玉的伙伴亦被打致重傷。正當眾人絕望之際，有一位和楊寶年紀相若的俠士，用他那把佩劍以及高超的劍法壓制住楊寶，最後更為武林鏟除了楊寶這一個大魔頭。＂

＂那一位俠士，就是現在武林上無人不識的＂天下第一神劍＂燕義。＂

＂集武塔之戰已經過去了十年。這十年之間，燕義就像人間蒸發了，沒有人知道燕義的行蹤。但是江湖上突然傳出了一些關於燕義的傳聞......＂
