I just wanted to take a peaceful walk and clear my head. As I walked, I had an eerie feeling that the forest wanted me dead.

I walk farther under the wet green canopy; it seems I can hear whispering of someone saying, I want you dead.

As I take each step one in front of the other I can hear the leaves and sticks crunch beneath my feet right after another.

It's very oddly quiet, not a bird nor a chipmunk can be heard. The wind doesn't seem to play its normal serenade, one string at a time, but nothing can be heard.

I swear I can see glowing yellow eyes watching me. I swear I can hear someone say, 'You have nothing to live for.'

In my peripheral, I see shadows racing behind the trees. I can still smell the rain and the coat of dampness covering everything.

It's like I stepped into a prequel to a nightmare. Maybe, just maybe, I should go home.

Is my mind playing tricks on me, or is this forest wanting me dead? Are the ghosts of the dead animals following me? Are they watching me from the treetops?
