The president of United States of America and general Secretary of United Nations stood together in the International Operating Office of the United Nations. They were delivering a speech. “Our scientists have achieved it, after 36 years of continuous hard work they have finally achieved it. The Elite United Nations Scientists Committee had been working hard for last 3 years to complete the 157th and last stage of the International Dimensional Travel Project. Now I would like to hand over the stage to Mr. Secretary”. 86Please respect copyright.PENANAbiPxKRc0BO
“Very true sir indeed very true, Honorable president. Our first test would be conducted to Dimension 3 with whom we have made constant communication from last 23 years. This test will be held next year when all the necessary preparations would be made we will become the first dimension from the 7 dimensions to travel beyond our own dimension. Thank you.”86Please respect copyright.PENANAMO40eGnsiA

Raja stood up from his seat. His bus station was just a km ahead, he came here everyday, he retrieved his orange kit bag from below his seat and hung it around his neck. He went to back cabin to wear his suit. It was a small white coloured cabin in the bus, several thick orange suits hung from a nail. These looked like space suits but worked very differently from one. Raja wore the suit and started walking towards the door of the bus. Before opening it he carefully placed the soft orange helmet onto his head so that it completely covered his face and his head. Now he opened the door and stepped in another small room, the door automatically closed behind. He opened another door and stepped onto the road. As usual he could not see anything, it was all white smog. This fog like sheet was now permanent and was always present on Earth. It was referred to as Perma Smoke. This was permanent smoke. This was in gas form but seemed like a thick layer. He switched on his clear vision glasses present in his orange suit. This orange suit was called Oxygen Suit for it’s main purpose was providing oxygen. Moreover it also provided protection against harmful UV rays. After his vision glasses was on he treaded further on the road. It was one single road on an immeasurably large desert. This is what Delhi looked like, it hadn’t been such 8 to 9 years back. The major desertification of the country had started when he was 13 years old. He was 21 now and worked as an electrician in the underground cabins. Now he stepped off the road and started walking on the sand. On the vast landscape of sand and only sand it was impossible to find an underground cabin here. There was a flag on sand wherever there was a cabin beneath but still the flag got covered by sand again and again by the frequent sand storms. Anyways this was not a problem for Raja , for any worker actually to find the cabin they had the smart watch which was given by the government . It was actually smarter than the smart phone that he had. The watch was attached to his glove, it showed that there were 20 meters to reach the cabin. When he reached the spot he used his smart watch’s scanner to find out how much distance beneath was the cabin’s trap door. It wasn’t deep and it was his routine job so he took out his contracted spade. There was a button to maximize its size so that it was appropriate for digging. He dig and dig till the spade came in contact with the metal strap door. As he opened the door vertically, a thought came to him. It was a childish actually a suicidal thought, ‘to remove his helmet for a bit’. But he soon scrapped the idea, obviously. At entering the cabin he stood at a shower station which disinfected one before the person entered the cabin. Then finally after an hour's travel and disinfecting and suiting up and whatsoever he clicked the button to open the automatic door to the main rooms of the cabin. As usual he saw Syed sitting with a book on the sofa with his feet on the table. He had two different earrings in his ears and he very long hair. The rooms were very small and people lived in congested areas. The last door connected the hall (which was in the middle) to the control room where he had to go. He first checked the oxygen and then the UV rays protection layer. Syed cane into the room and greeted Raja. From all the cabins he went to Syed was his only friend, he was 18 and lived alone in this cabin. Raja lived in a cabin which was far from here and his job was to go to each cabin of his area and check whether all was working fine.86Please respect copyright.PENANASep69tG1LI
His parents had died when he was 1 year old, in a terrorist attack. After which his uncle only took care of him. His parents lived in New York they were both businessmen. His uncle was very young meaning that his father was many years older than him. His uncle and he had shifter to a distant place in Ladakh when he was about 15 years old.86Please respect copyright.PENANAMV9m6HsSLW
His uncle Tozo [which was his nickname] worked in a government job before he was fired (which was very rare) due to budget cuts. He possessed a spacious bungalow which he had sold. He had sent Raja to Delhi for only an year but the situation had deteoriated and he wasn’t able to make contact with him. Raja knowing that he couldn’t return to Ladakh for it was extremely expensive, risky and he also he didn’t know where his uncle was right now. He was very close to him and he was like a friend to him, surprisingly he was almost on first name basis with him. He was only 10-11 years older than Raja. He hadn’t married and had very few friends. But those friends were as good as family to Tozo. Overall whenever Raja thought of his uncle, he regarded him as a friend and his only family, he was sure a fascinating personality to him. Raja didn’t know about the rest of his family neither had he much bothered to ask Tozo nor had Tozo ever told him. 86Please respect copyright.PENANAzDjGaxYZ4c
He was remembering him when he pulled the lever of a metal door which lead to the most important room of the Cabin -the Oxygen Control Room. Only Raja was allowed to enter this room, he swiped his identity card in the slot beside the lever of opened the door. He closed the door behind him and started working. He lowered the oxygen a little because the daily quota of oxygen and exceeded. If it exceeded beyond a limit, Raja would have to pay for that. As he was checking the settings again he noticed one of the buttons broken. He reached out for another door in the control room which lead to the store room. He started rummaging in the spare parts box, he suddenly noticed a shiny metal piece reflecting light from the bulb. It also placed at the very last box of the store room. He was getting late and had to go to another cabin but curiosity took the better of him and he went to near that box. It was situated deep inside a a pile of rubble with just that one metal piece poking out. He took hold of the metal piece and pulled hard. He couldn’t pull it out. Now he become seriously curious. And he stood up and pulled so hard that he got slumped back on the floor. His eyes opened wide, he recognized it. It was a semi-circular hollow metal piece. He instinctively shouted out of surprise “That’s impossible”. It was a portal stand. All the events from his life were returning to him. Now he sat down and remembered how things around him had changed and lead him to this moment and this place. What had happened to his beautiful world?86Please respect copyright.PENANAUCvSgCe1k5
When it was sure that oxygen was going to be completely depleted eventually in about 2019-2020, inter-Dimensional Travel was completely banned. It was because electrical energy of countries around the world was transported to United Nations’s World Oxygen Bank which now in 2023 provided oxygen to most of the living cabins around the world. It was probably the world’s largest collaboration project in history. After that in 2020 all fossil fuel cars were banned and only electrical cars were allowed. But this second ruling of the UN failed and environmental condition worsened. The air quality index around the world was at an all time low and pollution increased twenty times that of the last year’s pollution. It was mainly caused by the pollution created by the Oxygen Cabins themselves. 86Please respect copyright.PENANAKarGGifGrX
There were several international events like the G7 and the G20. In the year 2020 itself there were a total of 300 United Nation important meeting not counting the several dozen minor meetings. The problem deteoriated. As pollution reached its all time high ever, scientists around the world formed the United Nations International Oxygen Measurement Committee. The percentage of oxygen in our environment had decreased too much. In 2021, oxygen cabin were built around the world on a large scale. More and more energy and money was put into the World Oxygen Bank. Towards the end of 2021 research started for the construction of completely pollution free and electric cabin. Situation seemed slightly under control and governments around the world found hope. People thought that normal climatic condition would be brought back in next five years. But soon another problem came. There were millions of deaths around the world due to skin diseases caused by increased exposure to UV rays. It was then that the attention of scientists fell upon the shrinking ozone layer. It wasn’t that projects to save the ozone were not functional earlier-there were efforts to make the ozone its original size in the last decade-but they were side lined due to the oxygen crisis. UN issued a statement that if this problem wasn’t taken care of the ozone would completely vanish till the end of 2021. Several artificial ozone layer projects were initiated by Asian countries which eventually added to the massive pollution. The UN also began partnerships with governments of many countries for building artificial ozone layers. In turn the project for electrical oxygen cabin was abandoned and the cabins continued to produce the same amount of pollution. As the UN had predicted by the end of 2021, 70 percent of the ozone layer vanished. Extremely harmful ultraviolet radiations entered the earth’s atmosphere. It was now impossible to step out in the open without an Oxygen Suit-though it was called an Oxygen Suit but it also provided full protection against harmful radiations. Oxygen Suits were expensive and it caused yet more pollution to make them on such a large scale. The UN was the sole manufacturer of Oxygen Suits, so it lost its essence it was now also a seller of goods. The governments of countries purchased it from the UN and gave it to its population for free. Many countries lost faith in the UN and started viewing it as a separated organisation -not a group of nations. But many countries were in support of UN. At the same time. Oxygen Cabins multiplied and pollution caused by the increased manifolds. Then in February 2022 a war broke out between UN (and its supporting countries) and several European and Asian countries. Only the countries which were neutral and the countries which were supporting UN were kept in the UN and the rest were either forcefully removed with one or the other false reason or resigned. The UN became an independent power with support of several countries, though it had no territory yet but it had lots of indirect power, equipment and trust. The war stretched for 7 months. It was intense war and there was large scale production of weapons in almost all countries involved in the war. It had an extremely adverse effect on the climatic condition of Earth. The amount of greenhouse gas increased very much in those 7 months and till November the Oxygen amount in atmosphere had decreased too much. During the war the functioning of the World Oxygen Bank, Ozone Layer Project and other environmental projects had slowed down or completely broke down. Till the times the rival nation re-joined the UN, the war completely ended and peace was restored, the condition of pollution had gone out of control to such an extent that it was impossible to see a thing out in the open even in the time of broad daylight for the smog covered the cities all the time. Of course the situation was far more worse in cities like Delhi and London where pollution was already high. 86Please respect copyright.PENANA91MhH1dZ7b
Syed saw it too, the piece of portal stand. An unexpected desire to leave this dimension filled Raja’s mind. He didn’t know why but he just wanted to leave. He didn’t want to live in this polluted world. No, not only that he could rescue his friends from this place, no in fact he could rescue a bunch of more people. No after all it was a portal he could literally rescue the whole world from this polluted mess of Earth. He pulled the cardboard box towards him and rummaged a bit more in it. And to his absolute surprise he found other parts. Then he scrapped all his previous ideas and started thinking practically. It was a punishable offense to start a portal. If found guilty he could be even jailed. 86Please respect copyright.PENANACYNrnl8tFu
