原句是出自《真理之劍 I ．巫師第一守則》：

Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true.

因為人們愚昧，他們會相信一個謊言，只因他們想要相信那是真的，或只因他們害怕那可能是真的。

我認為，無論是不是謊言，無論是希望還是害怕，其實都是心有所想、心有所念。

當所思所念出現在眼前，當所思所念傳進耳朵，人便很容易去相信，也願意去相信，甚至會「腦補」缺少的部份讓自己去相信。
