　　身處在資訊高速流通的時代，人們早已不缺乏娛樂、新知與短暫刺激。真正逐漸匱乏的，反而是「陪伴」。於是，一種名為「空氣人出租」的新興產業誕生了。

　　所謂的空氣人，不提供戀愛、不提供親密關係，也不保證任何情感上的回應。他們只是短暫地進入某個人的人生，在約定好的時間裡陪伴對方，然後離開。有人租來參加婚禮，有人租來度過生日，有人只是想在深夜裡，擁有一個願意坐在自己身旁的人。而十七歲的少女「海心」，便是其中一名空氣人。

　　她原本以為，陪伴只是一份工作。直到她開始遇見那些孤單的人們，她才慢慢發現。原來真正危險的，從來不是陌生人，而是人與人之間，無法避免的牽絆。因為有時候，空氣人會走進別人的人生；但有時候，別人也會悄悄走進空氣人的心裡。
