"A girl I like?" A voice came from the speaker, blurry but clear enough to be understood, "I don't think I have anyone in particular..."
A shuffle of what sounds like papers scratched the microphone, "EMYEMYEMYEMYEM, 'No OnE iN pArtIcuLar,' Fuck you, dude, you always say that. Makes me wonder if you're gay." Another voice answered in a mocking tone.
"Be careful with those. Don't put the papers there, you might turn on the broadcast accidentally. And what's wrong with being gay?" the voice asked.
"No, that's not what I'm saying. Just answer specifically because you're pissing me off."
"So? What are we doing here anyway?"
"We're waiting for the president to come. He's buying some rubber for an experiment."
The voices came from a speaker connected to the broadcast room. There was an app for students where you can listen to their podcasts live and will send you an alarm. Meanwhile, if you are in school, you could go to the backrooms where there is a speaker and a room dedicated to the podcast club. They post a live podcast for 15 minutes every lunch break. The students instantly received an "on air" notification and rushed to get their headphones and/or headsets. Some went to the podcast room to listen and chat with the other listeners, excited for whatever weird thing the student leads will do again today. It took them a few moments to realize that Ezra, one of the student leads, in his clumsy state, probably accidentally pushed the "on air" button.
Well, this could be interesting. They all thought.
They're not about to ruin the fun by telling the podcast leads what happened. They could listen in on something embarrassing or something way, way interesting than just gossip.
Those in the podcast-listening room all gasped when they heard rubber.
"What?? Why would you need that? Are we going to make a balloon or something?"
"Ah, no, not a condom. I meant literal rubber." Said Ezra.
"Oh." said the voice.
"Oh. Said the people in the listening room.
"Oh." Said the students listening from their phones.
"Oh, okay." Said the voice again.
"ANYWAY! That's not what we're talking about. You've been stalking that kid recently- what's his name? Kendrick? Reggie? Octavious?- I don't know what you're up to but you better not bully him." Ezra sighed.
"His name is Lev."
"Like, 'Leviathan'? That Lev?" Ezra asked.
"No, Lev as in- You know what? This is a waste of time, I just wanted to tell you something."
There was silence. In the broadcast and the listening room. You could only hear shallow breaths.
"Don't tell me..." Ezra gasped, "You're my long lost brother! Oh, my, God, Rush, I'm so-!"
"No, you dumbass!" Rush exclaimed.
All the girls in the listening room gave a sigh of relief. Those two can't be related. Ezra is so, so... so not that, you know? While Rush just breathes and all the guys and girls instantly get dominated for some reason as if he's releasing some sort of pheromone.
"What if I told you that, uhm, I- *cough*... *Ahem*" Rush started.
Everyone listening thought the same thing, "What!! Spit it out already!"
"What if I was, uh, what if I liked a boy?"
"Ohhhh, so that's what you were trying to tell me..." Ezra said, An image of him nodding popped into the listener's minds before they heard: "Wait, HUH??? YOU LIKE ME???"
The listener's immediately gasped. They don't want that!
"No, not you, that's gross."
"I feel offended yet relieved at the same time. Well, then, who is it?"
"Lev, you know that boy?"
"Shit, really??????" This time, the voice did not come from Ezra. Instead, before the voice was heard, there was a loud, 'BAM!" as if a door being thrown open. This was the president's voice. There was a clatter of sounds and a a sound as if a body falling to the ground and a not-so-manly scream.
"Pres, how long have you been standing there?" Rush said, surprised, but not that much.
"P-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-prez, w-w-w-when d-d-d-did y-y-y-y-you ari-r-ive?" Ezra stuttered.
"You LIKE Lev???" Prez shouted.
"Not so loud, please?" Rush answered.
Meanwhile, in the lawn, there was a gathering of boys, taking a break from their soccer practice, surrounding three girls who owned a speaker. They were all listening to the podcast. Before, they were super focused to the podcast, making their guesses, but now, they all turned to one boy.
"What is it?" Lev asked, shying away behind his brother, "What?" he asked again.
Not before long, he was already being pushed back in the school building by his teammates, his older brother, and three girls who barely even know him.
Meanwhile, inside the broadcast room, there was chaos.
You could hear prez shouting, "TURN IT OFF!!" and then silence again.
While inside the listening room, you could hear, "aww"'s and "man"'s and groans.
Meanwhile, just outside of the broadcast room, a boy got pushed in the room.
"Sorry for the trouble!" one boy shouted, pushing a very familiar boy inside the broadcast room, "Here's your Juliet!" He said before leaving and shutting the door.
Four people were left frozen in the room: Prez was standing there, eyes wide open, looking from Rush to Lev again and again. Ezra was on the floor, not yet recovering. Rush was sitting down, eyes wide, face redder than Mars. Lev stood close to the door, hugging the soccer ball, blood was obvious from his face to his neck.
"Raphael..." Lev mumbled.
Prez, once again, freaked out, "H-he called you by your name! I don't even do that! I- I-!" Prez squeaked.
At this point, Ezra just got up and started dragging Prez, whose jaw was all the way to the floor, out of the room.
"Excuse us," he whispered as he squeezed behind Lev.
There was a creak and the door shut.
Now there were only two people inside.
"Lev, oh God, that was-" Raphael rubbed his forehead.
Lev threw the soccer ball at Raphael. "What the fuck was that?!?!" he said, covering his bright red face.
"Oh, my Gooooood..." Rush fell to the floor, curling up, "Oh, Goddddddd."
There was silence for a while before Raphael said, "Well, yeah, so, what's your answer?"
"Do it properly!" Lev shouted, also on the floor at this point.
"...Right." Raphael stood up and walked toward the crouched-up Lev. "I like you, please be mine, I mean, be my boyfriend, please, I will make you happy..." Rush said, making sure he said each word with sincerity, "...please." he added.
Lev was silent, his face cradled on his knees. He held up his hand and Raphael took it.
They face each other
"I... I'll be your boyfriend, yeah." he whispered.
"What was that?" Rush asked, now holding both of Lev's hands.
"I said..."
"What? Huh? I can't hear you?"
"I said, fine, yes I'll be yours, I mean, I'll be your boyfriend."
Raphael's smile was as wide as the atlantic ocean as he brought in Lev and hugged him tightly.
"I'm gonna die, aren't I?" Lev mumbled into Rush's shoulder who laughed in turn.
