Alas, I have awoken from my slumber! Again! For like the 10th time 😭
im not going to lie, i kind of forgot this site existed tbh. But I’m very happy I now remembered. Let’s start with some basic recap. I’m done my third year! Yay! Only one more to go of undergrad :))) that does make me feel kind of old im not going to lie, but I am happy that I can finally be finished with my education, even though I do plan to go to grad school lol.
but the biggest news I think I’ve ever posted is… MY FIRST DRAFT IS NOW COMPLETE! That’s right, as of April 29th, 2025, the first draft of the Arison Exception is finally done. It’s been 2.5 years guys, pretty much even longer. I genuinely can’t believe it. Of course, I still have much to do. Editing, marketing and figuring out where I want to publish it.
fortunately, I will have a lot more time this summer to figure it out. The past two summers I was fortunate enough to find summer jobs, and while I have a job set up for the next upcoming school year, as of right now I am doing nothing! Yes, it’s partly a blessing because like…who wants to work. But I’ve never had a break this long, like ever. University summers for my university go from end of April to the beginning of September. And although my job starts mid August, that still gives me so much time! And what to do??
I’ve found myself lacking motivation on a lot of days but I’m really trying to be productive with my creative side which is something I have never been able to do. Not only am I trying to edit AE, but I’m also trying to get my name out there. I’ve mentioned my Instagram on here a couple of times, maybe too many times but I’m really, really, trying to be more active on there this summer, and continue posting like, idk forever 😭 at least until my book is published. I’ll be sharing updates on there and just relatable content. My IG is also a way to post some of my art related to my book, which I haven’t gotten to do so far! I’m currently working on a short animation as my first ever Instagram reel, and it has taken so much out of me so fingers crossed it does well!!! I will definitely spam all the tags and all the tricks to get reels to perform well lol. another thing I’ve been doing is submitting my work to literary magazines, which I’ve found have kept me motivated! There are so many independent, youth led magazines that are a great opportunity to get your work out there. I’ve currently sent submissions to 3 magazines and I’m really hoping they accept! If they don’t, though, I’ll be sure to post my work on here since I want at least some home for it lol.
but yeah! That’s pretty much it. Excited for what this summer could potentially offer me, even if it’s different from what I’m used to. The song I’m listening to is “gamma ray blue” by the cleaners from Venus! A very very underrated artist from the 80s :D
