開始攻城的第二天，為了破壞戴林軍攻城優勢，陸橋派出了一支九死一生的敢死隊，沿着漆黑的懸崖和升起霧氣的海岸，撐小船登陸戴林軍側翼，進行夜襲。

這支部隊約有2000人，由民兵和三酬傭兵組成，成功對沿岸的駐軍造成打擊，並且摧毁了約30門火炮。

但只有約一半人有命從戰場撤離，大多是有作戰經驗的僱傭兵。
