Ustengrav's government uses districts to categorize the terrain. The first district, the Grey District, takes a majority of Ustengrav. The Grey district consists of mountains enveloped in a sheer tundra; it's prone to severe snowstorms, creating a hazard to anyone who tries to reach the inner cities tucked away within the secure parts of the mountains.

There's no need to worry about the potentially life-threatening dangers of the cold, as the government prioritized the safety of the people by burrowing transportation tunnels into the mountains for travel. Of course, you're free to brave the tundra yourself, but without proper equipment for the cold, you'll most likely freeze to death. The government is not obligated to recover your corpse, and you'll be left out there forever.

If the cold of the Grey District is not for you, then the Green District is fit for you. Unlike the frozen mountaintops, you'll feel a luxury the Grey District rarely receives: the heat from the sun. With green fields and lush forests, the Green District is a heavy contrast to the snowy wastes of the Grey District.

Still slightly cold, it's more refreshing when mixed with the constant warm weather of early Summer and late Spring. Is winter a problem? Not really. There may be times when the temperature dips below negative, but you'll never get blizzard to the degree of the Grey District. The Green district also borders the sea filled with aquatic life; if living on the beach is your thing, consider finding a place to live near the ocean. Overall, the Green District is the easiest of the two Districts, only if you want to be stuck to rural life forever.

The Grey District makes up the majority of production, with mines heavy with metals littered throughout the mountains; the factories within every city of Ustengrav produce everything from household items to weapons of war. Their profits heavily depend on exports and imports of their products, especially guns, to make money. Weighing heavily on the economy, if anything were to happen to the factories or production, it would heavily affect the economy. In turn, occupations related to maintaining these factories are in high demand, so if you're interested in those fields, the Grey District would be perfect for you if you don't mind the cold and the constant competition. Maybe losing a couple of fingers, you wouldn't mind losing an arm or leg, would you?

Meanwhile, the Green District only makes up a small portion of the economy. The jobs are abundant, as there are many positions in agriculture, but if you're looking to make a decent wage off your occupation, you'll be disappointed. If I said Ustengrav is a democracy, I'd be lying. The "freedom" so proudly displayed is a well-put-together guise of lies meant to trick people into making Ustengrav seem like the perfect country. Ustengrav is completely Totalitarian and pandered towards elites ( Government officials, Military Commanders, etc. ) while completely restricting the rights of the people under the excuses of "protection" and "security."

Ustengrav's Department of Education ( D.O.E. ) monitors your grades for all years; students with a prowess for learning will receive more opportunities if their chosen career paths also fit what D.O.E. wants. If you want to pursue something that is considered too "Easy" for your intellect or "useless," D.O.E. will actively try to push you toward careers considered "Important." If you have the smarts to do it, you will pursue that college course, whether you like it or not.

Graven is Ustengrav's national language. The language borrows from the Slavic and Germanic branches of the language tree. Depending on where you go within the country, the dialect may vary. Ustengraven's leaving the country use English instead of their home language, as Ustengrav prevents the language from being taught or used outside the country. However, if a Ustengraven uses their language, and you want to understand what sounds like incoherent, angry ramblings, Farnguard offers courses for their language, which is an offshoot of Graven. Though words and meanings may vary, it's the closest you can get.

Ustengrav heavily focuses on improving and expanding its military. Ustengrav reworks its guns, vehicles, and other military-related objects to become efficient, deadly, or both. Ustengrav also likes to maintain a large soldier base, often putting many young soldiers through rigorous training, subjecting many soldiers to strenuous physical and mental conditioning to create hardened soldiers emotionless to war.

Citizens don't witness the same training, but it's still required to take a minor combat course when you turn 18. Ustengrav likes to keep its citizens ready for war, so in the case of invasion or a shortage of soldiers, they already have some knowledge of fighting.

Ustengrav also likes to keep itself well guarded, with military patrols frequent within the cities of the Grey District, many military camps scattered in the Green District, and heavy blockades on the borders of Ustengrav. The military is honestly everywhere; even the police are part of the military.
