They always told me I was dark for imagining my own death, again and again I'd always have a new idea of how I would die. Maybe it was a tragic fire, maybe someone decided I had to die and killed me, maybe it was just an accident. However, I never imagined my life ending this way.
The clock ticked anxiously in the background tick tick tick I waited for this day for months on end. I was auditioning for the lead role in the play the local college was hosting for charity. It was my turn next, the bell chimed with the sign of a new hour, the auditorium was quiet not many of us were willing to try out. There was only one other person trying for the lead, she had just finished her audition as I walked onto stage. I gave the performance of my life, I spoke every word from the heart nothing but raw pure emotion. They yelled stop halfway through they told me I had what it took. My life flourished from that day forward. Play after play, show after show, I was the star. A talent agent came up to me after my last college show, he said I had what it took to be the biggest starlet in the country. How I wish I could go back to that day and refuse...
I signed up with his agency not long after I graduated which was only a month after my last show, four years and I had made it to the big times. Who would've thought a small town college girl could of made it so far so quick. A few small commercials, minor background tv character roles, and then finally I had it. My big break, I was casted as the lead in an upcoming rom-com as soon as I finished with my last small movie role I would be on the big leagues or so I had thought.
The small role I was working on was for a horror movie, all about the murder and mystery of a haunted summer camp. I played as one of the main characters friends. Becca. I didn't live through the movie I escaped a few times and perished to my death. This was the last scene, my death scene.
I was running as fast as I could screaming for help trying to escape he chased me through the woods, around the camp, all over and I still could not find a way out. Screams echoed through the building, he swung again and again I desperately tried to get up and move wasn't this over kill for the character? Expect... Why did it hurt? Why was everyone screaming from the- that was when I realized. I wasn't acting now, they weren't background characters witnessing the murder. They were real people watching a real person be killed.
The limelight led to my death, a way I had never dreamed of dying yet. At least I was right partly, I had imagined I'd be murdered I just never thought so painfully or brutally. I thought I'd be camping in the woods and some deranged killer would chop my head off or stab me right through the heart, quick and mostly painless but no. I was axed to death, on set, playing a part that became so real far to quickly.
