*BANG*
A thud soon followed, the gun that I held to end my life had fallen to the floor. A crimson red coated the barrel as blood dripped from my cold lifeless hand. Was I dead? No, I was treading the edge between life and death.
Within my room I sat like a soulless doll propped up by the back of my chair, my eyes glossy and my skin pale as snow. The world itself seemed to be drained of color, but the red of my blood shined bright as ever, as if it were taunting me.
Why couldn't it be quick? That's all I could think, my mind repeating the words like an echo in a cavern. I couldn't think straight, I felt as if my mind was slipping in and out of existence. Was the pain pulsing through my body clouding my thoughts? or was it the flowing rivers of blood pouring from my head?
My body slumped over, my strength fading away. My head fell to my keyboard, blood ran in between the keys. My mouth and eyes were left wide open, as if I was stuck in shock. The blood gushed from my mouth, it must of looked like I was drooling blood.
I couldn't move, nor could I speak. I could feel the cold embrace of death slowly creeping up on me. I knew I was going to die and I wanted too. But in my daze, I thought of my brother. I thought of him attending my funeral, sobbing at the sight of my corpse as it was lowered into my grave. Did I really just leave him behind...? Was I so enveloped in my self loathing that I forgot about my dear brother?
I wanted to cry, but even such a simple task could not be fulfilled. It was too late, this was my fault and now I must pay the price. My eyes closed, any strength that I had was gone. I went to take my last breath before death, but the only thing that entered my lungs was a thick and painful reminder that was my own blood.
