Alone

I walk across a broken land,

It is the only place I stand.

Fragmented memories of the past,

My mind only has so long to last.

I don’t have the ability to heal,

Not when this pain is all I feel…

You all have it so easy!

You just float on by all breezy!

I don't have you're lovely fix,

I don’t have these life long scripts!

I am not strong at all,

You just haven’t watched me fall!!!

I was slaughtered from the start,

That’s the very simple part!

I was drowning this entire time,

Just telling you all I’m FINE!

It was never the truth,

Take it as a claw and tooth.

I run away and hide,

Just to return and set my pain aside.

None of you came for me,

That is so clear to see!!!

You claim I’m so strong,

But that is where you are wrong…

I am a walking dead man,

And this was no plan.

I’m far away from being safe,

It takes so much time to be brave.

I’ve been dying.

I’ve been crying.

But no one has ever been here.

That is crystal clear.

I could disappear for days,

I could be walking in a daze.

No one would know,

So no…

I have no one close…

I barely have a pulse.

I’ve always walked alone.

That’s all I’ve ever known.

So if I ever die?

Don’t you dare cry.

You never looked for me in the first place.

I was left in a cold embrace.
