Storm 01 shuts the door to the sick bay behind him. He slipped his hands into his pocket and begin towards the Storm troopers' training section. Just before he took another corner, Jesselyn's voice rang in his ears.
She was wearing grey sweatpants and a black Jean-jacket over a white crop top. "Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked. "Shouldn't you be preparing for the last bullet?"
She smiled and pulled him in for a hug. "I've missed you."
"We saw each other on the ship when we were headed to the Prime Hall..."
"I know," she chipped in.
Storm 01 sighed and hugged her back. After a while, they broke apart and she looked him in the eyes with a slight smile on her face. "Can you spare some time?"
"I have to get back to training..."
"Just a few minutes will do. I want to talk to you," she pleaded.
Storm 01 looked back in the direction of the sick bay and sighed. "I guess I could spare some moments. But where could we possibly go and talk without being disturbed in D.H.?"
Jesselyn smiled and grabbed his hand. "Come with me." She pulled him with her and they both walked out of the Storm troopers' section. She led him further away from the Storm's part of the spaceship and didn't stop till they were in front of a door that had a restriction sign on it.
"What are we doing? Where is this place?"
"You know I always find exclusive rooms where ever we go. It's my superpowers."
"Yeah, but it clearly says 'radiation-filled room' on the door. I don't think we should be going in there," he relentlessly complained.
Jesselyn typed in the passcode and the door chimed open. She turned to him with a smile and extended her hand to him. "Do you trust me?"
Storm 01 looked into her eyes with his lips slightly parted. There was a bit of silence up in the atmosphere until he spoke again. "Yes. But Jess it says..."
She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the dark room, shutting the door behind them. Jesselyn clapped twice and the dark room suddenly became lit with blue lights.
"See. There's nothing radioactive about this place. More of the opposite I'd say."
Storm 01 looked around the room and realized she was right. Instead of the barrels and floating chairs that for some reason he thought he'd see, the room was like a cinema hall. But instead of a television, the ceiling had an opening with a few chairs arranged back to back below the opening.
"What is this place?" Storm 01 mumbled.
She smiled and walked further into the room to a table that was in a corner. She picked up a pair of glasses and walked back to Storm 01.
"It's a relaxation room used in the past by agents during their free time. The agents became too lazy and came here almost too often, so Chief had it locked down," she revealed.
"How'd you come to know about it?"
"We were gonna store some weapons here, so the others told me about it. I tried it out for a couple of minutes and it was oddly satisfying, then I thought, I need to try it out with you," she smiled before she passed one of the glasses to him.
They both put on the glasses and sat on the chair, raising their heads to the opening above. Because the opening was glass, they were able to see the stars in the sky, and with the glasses, it made it look very clear and added some artificial touch to it. Storm 01 inhaled and exhaled deeply.
"Why does this feels so nice?"
Jesselyn let out a soft giggle. "I know right? You feel as if your entire soul has opened up. And the sceneries are so beautiful."
"Yeah..."
Jesselyn sighed. "I've been meaning to ask you something. You probably wouldn't be most elated about it."
"Hit me with it already."
She stopped for a few seconds before speaking again. "Have you tried contacting your father since you left?"
The atmosphere in the room instantly changed upon the mention of his father. He felt his breath hooked in his throat but he managed to speak through it. "I actually snuck out of Department H to see him even though he sold me off like an object, but he was gone. The house had already been retrieved by the state. What if he's dead?"
"I-i don't think so," Jesselyn replied. She took off her glasses and sat up straight. "Do you really think your father will send you off like that? Without informing you?"
Storm 01 scoffed. "Please, he doesn't care about me, and he did already. Why are you even asking this question? What does it matter now?"
Jesselyn took a few seconds before speaking. "I contacted home, but it was dad's brother, my uncle that answered. He got really confused and asked where I was and what happened. He said dad gave up on looking for me and suddenly went unconscious. He advised I never call again. I should remain where I am and never return."
Storm 01 slowly took off the glasses he was wearing. "So I thought, why would dad be worried about me if he was really the one that signed with his hands to let me join D.H.?" she added.
Storm 01 turned to look at her. "Are you saying..."
"Something isn't right. Something is happening behind our backs. Don't you think so?"
Storm 01 bites the handle of the glasses and sighs. "I don't know. It's just..."
"Do you remember what happened at the arcade in Cherry Parlour years ago? Do you?" She pondered deeper.
Storm 01 repaired his sitting position on the chair and sighed. "You are worrying yourself too much about things that happened in the past."
Jesselyn sat properly and put the glasses back on. "Are you saying we should just forget?"
"That's precisely what I'm saying, even if you're right, what can we do about it?…" He stopped and put the glasses back on. "Enough about that. Tell me, what have you been doing?" He asked.
Jesselyn groaned. "Well, the Rain squad is looking for a suspect in winter Weir that Chief believes is from Earth, but no joy," she revealed. "The people on Earth are still plotting against Winter Weir."
"A spy from Earth? God, I never thought working in D.H. would be so tiresome," Storm 01 explained.
Jesselyn chuckled softly. "What? Were you expecting it to be all sunshine and rainbows?"
"I guess you are right. The D.H. is the defense line of Winter Weir, being an agent there would be difficult."
They remained quiet for a couple of moments and only enjoyed the view in front of them. Storm 01 couldn't help but think about what Jesselyn said about how they got recruited into Department H. He couldn't counter her words no matter how hard he tried.
"What are you thinking?" Jesselyn queried.
Storm 01 exhaled deeply. "Nothing important," he answered. "Wait. Is the Rain squad not preparing for the Last bullet?"
Jesselyn scoffed at his words. "I heard the last bullet has no importance at all. It doesn't matter if you guys win or not, your squad will still become an official squad of Department H."
"Oh," Storm 01 exclaimed. "Still helps the agents upgrade their performance. God, I can't wait to get a hold of you in the arena."
"Really? Alright then. Now I can't wait..."
Her words were cut off as the light in the room suddenly turned red, followed by a piercingly loud sound. The duo suddenly jumped out of the chair simultaneously.
"Red lights!" Storm 01 yelled. They glanced at each other and quickly dashed out of the room. Outside the room, they noticed the White agents running in the opposite direction from them.
Storm 01 stopped one of the White agents. "What's going on?" Storm 01 queried.
"Sorry." The agent pulled his hand from Storm 01's grip and continued with the others.
"Are we under attack?" Jesselyn yelled out loud.
"Rain 05," a familiar voice called from behind. They both turned to see Electro 28.
"Thank goodness." Storm 01 walked up to Electro 28. "What's going on?"
Electro 28 averted his eyes from Storm 01 to the Rain trooper. "You are coming with me, agent."
