12人在即將陷落的城市聚首一堂。過路的無辜商人，口袋飽滿，打算早早回家擁抱妻兒，城門卻轟然閉上。
罪犯和僱傭兵早就嗅到利益的銅臭，蠢蠢欲動；騎士謹守誓言，打算守護家園，卻不知往日戰友早已通敵，只是在靜候最好的時機離開。
還有血統神秘的孩子、貧困的占卜師、經常在賭枱旁邊醉酒鬧事的退伍軍人……還有誰？誰對，誰錯？誰活着，誰死去？
城市的最後12個夜晚，他們決定每人說一個故事……
最後的十二夜是1608年於伊登聯邦出版的小說《十二夜故事集》的起源故事。
