釋義：即卑躬屈膝之意。原文出自元代關漢卿作品《玉鏡臺》第三折：「我今日媒人根前，做小伏低，教他款慢裡，勸諫的俺夫妻和會。」

另外元．無名氏《黃鶴樓》第三折也曾出現：「你若是做小伏低，我著你活撥撥的遠趁江湖。」
