Velvet curtains swung left and right,

A plentiful crowd so dark and out of sight.

All eyes on me, burning through,

A dream, a need I have to pursue.

To walk a path, career or love,

To reach a destination right above...

What performance might I commit?

An act that expresses my conflict...

To choose to be above the rest?

"This is where my will lies", I attest.

To hear a roaring crowd ahead,

Or to hear the reject, I dread.

So speak my words, and every vow,

For when the lights dim, I'll take my bow.

I don't choose this life, no it isn't for me...

It's you all, who'll speak the decree.
