WRITING POETRY |PART 2| - Bottomless Pit

Depression is the emptiness in your chest

You have feelings that you can't express

Soon you grow numb

Until you're left with nothing besides an emotionless face

With no tears left to cry

Sometimes you won't even realize

Until you're in a puddle of self hatred

Where weakness lies

You've been crying since midnight

Now it's sunrise

You show signs that you're not okay

But no one can seem to read between the lines

Depression can feel like a wall you can't climb

Or someone holding you back

While everyone else leaves you behind

You're lost and no one can find you

But it's not their fault

Because you can't seem to find yourself either

Stress, anxiety homework that needs to be done

You're in your teen years for goodness sake

Whereas you should be having fun

Adults often shun you

Saying that that you don't know that you're talking about

Or you just want attention

You realize that they really don't care at all

So you're left with nothing

Besides used tissues your traumatic thoughts and despair

To be fair I think we've all been there

Soon to fall deeper into the bottomless pit

In which we call depression
