Ren was sitting in there back yard there long dusty blonde hair flowing off there shoulders down there back. They had their favorite book open.. a book about a boy and his pet fox ren loved foxes! It was infact their favorite animal. They had their fox stuffie that had been given to them this day by their mother as a birthday present. Ren sat up a bit they had expected their mom to be home by now. She had left 2 and a half hours ago to get a cake for them they looked on in confusion there amber eyes reflecting into the sunset.. there dad opened the back yard door and called to them “ren! Let’s go inside your mother must be home soon” he called to them his arms crossed against his chest a worried expression slung across his face. “Alright dad” ren said standing up and grabbing there stuffed animal and her book and slowly walking to the door and stepping inside shooting one last look outside and closing the door
Ren awoke with a start from their dream.. the last day their mother was alive their tenth birthday tears stung their eyes as they sat up. They grabbed their stuffed animal and held it dearly. she blinked back her tears and swinging her legs off her bed onto the floor boards of her new room. Her eyes scanned the premise boxes and boxes of unpacked things, her eyes landed on a picture of her mother and her when she was young. Ren gulped and looked away. She sat her stuffed animal down and stood up she walked slowly over to their mirror. She took into account their state their short messy dusty blonde hair, they’d cut it after their mom had died. Their amber eyes swollen and dark. She hadn’t slept enough and her over sized t-shirt with her shorts, her eyes only filling with the sound of her ticking alarm clock she changed into jeans and a fox sweatshirt. Her love for foxes hadn’t changed it only grew. She looked around one last time and opened the door to her new bedroom and walked down the stairwell to the kitchen.

’sorry Ren I had to leave for work early. I’ll be home late there’s left over soup in the fridge’ Ren sighed at this note her father had to do this on her first day of school she threw the note in the garbage angerly and grabbed her backpack off the kitchen chair. She slung it over her shoulder opening the door walking out and slamming it she grabbed her house key from their pocket and locked the door. She walked down to the bus stop and immediately pulled out there phone and plugging her headphones in.
