I'm drowning in a clear ocean of dark ink

and I don't think I'll surface

for at least for a year or so

to give them time to forget me.

as if that simple word could encompass

my heart's lost shards,

as if brushing it off makes it all okay again.

because how could you understand

and still leave me in my darkness?

but it doesn't matter anymore

because I know time will drown out all my worries.
