Tula sighed wearily. She was late for work again, the third time this month. She already had write-ups for the last two months; this month, for sure, she'd be fired. She didn't like her job as much as she had the first three years. Lately she drove to work wishing the building was on fire or flooded. She would love to be on vacation if only they approved her requests. Tula watched with anticipation as a fire engine sped past her. Her heart fell when it sped on past her turnoff. Great, another long, tiresome day awaited.
