Tika darted quickly between the chair legs. The figure moved, and she sank to the floor. Her eyes wide in anticipation, and her senses on edge, waiting for the figure to run away.
Tika crept closer, then suddenly she sprang at the figure, swatting it with her paws, but nothing happened. Tika placed her paw on the figure but could not touch it; instead, the figure appeared over her paw. It was a shadow.
