I am starved

Not for food

That comes in supply

But for emotional intimacy

Lord give me someone who knows each inner workings of my brain

and does not shy away

I want someone to love, to treasure truly

As if I couldn’t possibly breathe without them near

Alas I am starved

ravenous for hearts

I’ve been malnourished

But here I sit

Eating my eggs on toast

And I feel like something’s missing on my plate

And it’s not something I can satiate

With anything in my fridge
