Once many years ago, humans discovered spiritual beings invisible to the human eye called, “Seraphics”. With the human’s belief, some of them were able to wield the power of the Seraphics. They were dubbed, “Titans”, due to their massive amount of power.
They were the perfect fighting machines to combat the “Sins”, a deadly evil produced by negative emotions and actions. Too much contamination to a living thing will cause it to turn into a “Cryptic”.
One day, however, they all died off. And soon followed the people’s belief in the Seraphics. With that, the rise of Sins filled the world.
Now the Seraphics live only as legends to people. But you never know. History repeats itself.
"'With the power of the six elements on his side'," A 17-year-old boy read his book aloud to himself. "'With his friends taking their place next to him," He continued, "He-huh?" He looked up from his sitting position on the floor as he saw his book rise from his hands.
He came eye-to-eye with his long time friend(and only companion), Siren.
The dark Seraphic sighed as he closed the book shut.
"H-hey!" Zealous quickly stood up and made a quick grab for his book, "Give that back!" Only for it to be moved further from his grasp.
The Seraphic placed a hand on his friend's chest to keep him away from the object. "No, you don't. It's midnight. You can read the book tomorrow after breakfast."
"B-but I was just getting to the best part!"
Siren rolled his eyes, "You call every part the best part."
"That's because it's all the best!"
Siren's eye twitched at hearing the poor excuse. "I enjoy a good read too," He replied as he walked back to his bed. "But the last time you read this late, I had to cook." Without giving him a chance to reply he laid back onto his bed. "Now get the hell back to sleep."
Zealous groaned, "Fine…" He knew he was right. Besides, it's just a few hours. How bad could that be?
"It was terrible…" Zealous complained.
"You're overreacting," Siren replied.
"So, what are we hunting today?"
"Yesterday when I was out here I saw a mammoth."
Zealous paused, "A mammoth?" His mouth watered at the idea. "It's been like! A year! A whole year since we've last had one!"
"Exactly," Siren looked to the sky with stars in his eyes, "Both of us have to be there if we're going to take it back home."
Siren definitely could have killed it then and there, but he would have no way of getting it back home without the chance of some other beast taking his prize. And they couldn't just take some and leave it here, Never leave an animal you killed uneaten, is a rule they live by.
"So, how're we luring it?" Zealous said with a smirk.
The dark Seraphic sighed as he dropped his head in embarrassment. He used one hand to block his face as he looked back towards his friend. "You… know how." He replied.
"Hehehe," He chuckled, "This is gonna be great."
Zealous started to hum as he reached into his bag for an item. "Aha!" He cheered as he pulled out a Lyre.
"Here ya go." He said as he tossed him the instrument.
"OK…" Siren took a series of deep breaths as he prepared himself to play. Siren placed his fingers on the strings and prepared himself to start.
"We don't have all day!" Zealous interrupted him.
"Seriously?!" Siren retorted.
"Sorry," Zealous laughed as he rubbed his head, "Couldn't help it."
Getting his composure back, Siren started again. As he began to play his song a dark aura began to fill the grassy area around them. Eventually, it came to the part where Siren was dreading, and Zealous couldn't wait to hear. Time for Siren to sing…

Oh, Zealous is never going to let me go for today, Siren thought, I can already hear the jokes… no, wait… he's just actually doing them now.
As soon he finished he threw the cursed(at least to him) over to Zealous who caught it and returned it to the bag.
"OK… so… let's get… behind a tree or something." Zealous said between his laughs.
"I got it… you find my singing funny." He gritted his teeth in a struggle to not turn his sword on his brother.
"Hey," The human teen raised his hands in a protective manner. "Don't cut me open. Save that anger for lunch."
Ten minutes have gone by while the duo concealed themselves in the trees. They know that it wasn't a one-hundred percent guarantee that their target would show but Siren's skill with luring creatures over usually work well so they should be able to sleep with full stomachs tonight.
"Grrrrrr…" Siren's ears perked as he heard a strong growl.
It must be near, Siren thought. After thinking about it, he let out a sigh. Mammoths don't growl, He reasoned. "Zeal, tell your stomach to shut up." He warned, "It might scare it off." Truly he knew it wouldn't, but the sound was starting to annoy him.
"...That's your stomach."
The dark seraphic's eyes slowly traveled down to his abdomen to hear the small creature let out another growl.
The dark seraphic was about to say something back when they could feel the ground under them tremble slightly.
"It's here," Siren announced as they saw the brown fur appear in their view.
They watched patiently as it steadily made its way to the location where Siren played his song, unaware of its upcoming demise.
"Go!" Siren cried as he jumped down.
"Right behind you!" Zealous said following his friend.
The mammoth cried out and stomped its front feet and charged towards the duo with the intent to impale them.
Siren took this challenge and charge forward himself, drawing his blades, "Shallow Dance!" He announced as a shadow figure of himself took a place next to him. The double moved in a reversed motion of the original, keeping a symmetrical form.
"We'll need to injure the legs to keep it from running," Siren explained.
Siren took his place on the outside of the creature's leg with his sword drawn, ready to strike with his double doing the same action on the opposite side of the creature.
"Hya!" The dark seraphic cried as he and his double swung their swords simultaneously at the front legs cutting deep into the skin.
The mammoth cried and tried to retreat but with that wound, it wouldn't go anywhere fast.
"Not on my watch!" Zealous said as he jumped onto the animal's side and began to climb on top of it.
The mammoth in retaliation began to violently shake to try and throw him off, but sadly for it, Zealous was too stubborn.
Zealous inched his way till he was balancing on the side of the creatures face. Pulling his fist back as far as he could he brought forth the strongest punch he could muster right to the poor creature's eye.
The pain began to make the mammoth struggle even more. This did not stop the determined human, though, he simply kept up his assault.
"I… was… hoping to… end this… quickly!" Zealous grunted as he attacked.
"What did I tell you about what happens when you hope?" Siren questioned as he charged forward.
"It brings us pain and suffering?"
"And sorrow," The seraphic added, "Never forget the sorrow."
"Sorrow or not, we're not letting this thing slip away from us."
A few second later, the scene now had a satisfying duo standing over their deceased prize.
"A pretty clean kill if I do say so myself." Zealous grinned cheekily.
"Pretty sloppy if you ask me," Siren commented as he sheathed his swords.
"So," Zealous ignored his comment, "I guess we'll eat dinner here?"
"Dinner?"
"We'll it'll take a while to cook the entire thing, you know?"
"True," Siren nodded. "I'll start a fire."
"And I'll set up the rest." Zealous said taking out their equipment.
"Alright, it's all set up." Zealous announced as he took out the last of their cooking items. "Hand me a piece."
Nodding, Siren unsheathed a sword and began to cut a large piece of the beast. "Better hurry, it might hit midnight while we're eating."
Midnight it indeed hit.
Two young teens currently slept on the grassy field, Siren laying against a tree while Zealous passed out on his back with the last piece of the Mammoth being held in his arms as he hugged it.
"Mmmm…" Zealous groaned as he felt something lift from his arms.
Now his ears were filled with the sounds of gulps and gags.
"H… huh?" Zealous eyes started to open slightly. "Ahh…" He groaned as his eyes adjusted to the light from the fire.
Oh… they forgot to put the fire out. That was close!
After letting his eyes adjust to the light, Zealous turned his focus to a figure that was… eating what was his dinner!
"Hey!" Zealous cried as he tackled the stranger causing them to let out a gasp as Zealous pinned them down. "Alright, who are you-" Zealous instantly pushed himself back landing on his butt as he examined the stranger.
Zealous gulped, "Y-You're a…"
The stranger began to sit up and looked down to the ground, seemingly in shame.
Zealous made a mad dash for his bag and threw out many other items until he found what he was looking for, his book.
"You're a," He began to tear at the pages of his book at a rapid pace. "A girl?!"
"Huh?" Her voice sounded confused as she looked at him with an integrating look. "Yes…?"
"W-well," He quickly stood up to walk towards her but ended up tripping over his own feet.
She seemed to relax a bit as she let out a laugh.
Zealous stood back up as if it never happened, and he was really glad Siren wasn't up.
Oh crap, Siren, He thought.
"Ahem," He coughed into his hands. "S-sorry," He slightly whispered, "I just… never seen a girl before. Or anyone another person to be honest."
"My name's, Zealous." He introduced as he offered a hand to help her up.
She reached out but halted for a moment, obviously thinking if she could trust him. She eventually took him on his offer, though.
"Thank you," she said as she was raised up to her feet.
"You must've been hungry." Zealous laughed as he wiped a piece of Mammoth meat of her cheek.
She blushed in embarrassment, "I-I've been out here for about two days." She bowed, "I must ask for your forgiveness for having to witness me in such a state."
"Hey, I know what it's like to be hungry enough to take something." He laughed, "I've stolen plenty from my brother." Shit…
"Wait," She cocked her head. "I thought you said I'm the only person you've seen."
"W-well you are!" He gulped, "B-but I have…"
"An imaginary friend," Siren told him.
"Ah!" Zealous jumped as he looked at the seraphic who sighed.
"A-are you okay?"
"I'm fine, fine." Zealous asked nervously. "A-anyways, I have an imaginary friend."
"Hmm," She cupped her chin. "Being up here for many years, I'm assuming, would no doubt bring such loneliness to a person."
Zealous sighed, Thank gods, she's the understanding type!
"You should be happy that he's not real, he's a real jerk-ow!" Zealous cried as he was seemingly hit by nothing to the girl.
"What was that?"
"Just… punched by the wind, I guess." He answered, causing Siren to roll his eyes.
"I-if you're hungry," Zealous stammered, "I could make you something at my home."
"Are you sure? You don't even know my name."
"Well if you were a bad person, you could've just killed me in my sleep."
She giggled, "I suppose I could've. It would be nice to have a bath." She brought his focus to her current appearance.
Her face and clothing had specks of dirt and mud. He could also tell that she isn't someone who probably goes traveling to places like these often since she was wearing a dress and it must have seen better days. Her light brown hair was in pigtails and even that seemed to be in a state of peril.
"A bath?" He repeated as he thought about the familiar word. "Oh, we don't have a 'bath' per say but we do have a sauna you could use."
"That should suffice just fine." She smiled.
"Again, you must forgive me." She apologized again as the three made their way through the forest.
"It's no problem, really." Zealous assured her.
"I mean," She looked away, "to be honest, I was spying on you for a bit. When I smelled the food I planned to wait till you were asleep then… well, you know the rest."
"You were just taking care of yourself, is all."
"Sure, just pretend I'm not here." Siren rolled his eyes, "Just keep flirting." He earned an elbow from his brother.
She gave a look of shame, "But it's not the way a princess should act."
"You-you're a princess?!" His eyes widened.
"Oh, here we go." Siren sighed as he realized where this was going.
"Yes," She nodded, "I… ran away from home."
"But why?"
"Just… problems." She gripped her left arm with her right. "Family affairs, so to say."
"We should be asking how she even got here," Siren said, starting to get a little ticked off that he couldn't join the conversation.
"We'll she can't see or hear you, so I decide what's said."
"Ah!" The princess let out a sigh of bliss as she crashed onto the bed as if she was made of stone. She definitely hasn't seen a bed in a while. Zealous doubted it was anywhere near as comfortable as one of her royal beds but that didn't stop her from strangling the pillow in a hug.
"Comfy?"
She let out a tired yawn. "Y-yes," She replied, barely keeping her eyes opened. "I almost forgot how tired I was."
"You can take my bed." Zealous offered.
"N-no, I couldn't possibly-"
"I'll be fine, you're my guest after all." He walked up to her and covered her with a blanket. "Besides, I doubt you have the strength to get up."
She groaned as she tried to fight her tiredness. "I…. I…." She couldn't even finish a single sentence before she fell into a state of insensibility.
"She needs to leave soon." Siren wasted no time.
"Don't be rude."
"I'm not going to be a third wheel."
"But you were always my third wheel." He laughed.
Siren rubbed his forehead, "Nevermind, I won't waste my time." He laid down on his bed.
Zealous laughed as he took a seat in front of Siren's bed, taking out his book. "Just look at this? It's like in our book. The hero and his best friend are visited by a princess, who then leads them on an adventure."
"That's just a coincidence." Siren replied, "Don't get others mixed up in your dreams."
"S-since when did I do that?!"
"You used to not even use my name. You would just call me, 'sidekick'."
"I apologized for that."
"Yeah yeah," Siren turned his back to him. "Goodnight."
"Yeah…" Zealous smiled, "Night."
He would sleep soon, he was just going to read his book for a little while longer...

“Hey, Siren!” Zealous ran excitably towards the dark Seraphic teen, his white cap even seemed to have a hard time keeping up with his enthusiasm as you could imagine it being terrified as it flowed wildly behind him.
“Hm?” The dark-haired teen cocked his head as his friend quickly halted himself before him. “Something on your mind?”
“You… w-won’t… believe it!” He said between a series of deep breaths as he brought his hands to his knees to try and regain his composure.
Siren gave him another questionable look, too which Zealous just gave a toothy smile as he pulled something from a bag he had on his back. “Check it out!” He said as he brought the object closer to his view.
“Hmmm…” Siren cupped his chin as he examined the object. At first, it didn’t strike him as anything amazing. It just seemed like a normal piece of… wait! “Is this Runic Grass?!”
“Exactly! Can you believe it?!”
“H-how did you find it?”
“I think I speak for the both of us when I say that the details don’t matter.” Zealous quickly returned the item back into his bag for its safety. “What’s important is that we finally have it. Annnnd I’m the one who found it~.” He added that last bit with a sly smile.
Suddenly an arrow shot at them and landing right between them breaking their conversation. The duo quickly turned their heads to the location of their possible assassin, only to see the Seraphic of fire and water, Citrine. She had an almost too pleased look on her face after almost piercing the two.
“What the hell, Citrine?!” Siren was definitely the most unpleased of the event. “What if you killed us?”
She walked slowly towards them, humming a small tune and twirling her bow around on one finger. She stabbed her bow into the ground as she replied, “Well here you both are, still alive and un-arrowed. But apparently shitting your pants I see.”
“Do you get some kind of kick out of this?”
“Honestly? Kind of.” She giggled.
“You definitely wanted something, though.” Zealous added.
“Smart boy.” She nodded, “I was wondering why you both are being nerds over a stupid piece of grass.”
“I must admit…” A new voice entered the conversation. Ophelia the ‘Ultimate Warrior-in-training also walked up to them. “It does seem a little…” She brushed a strand of black hair from her face as she tried desperately to search for the nicest words she could think of to describe the scene she witness.
Citrine decided to chime in, “Idiotic, Stupid,”
“Both of those mean the same thing.” Zealous commented with half-lid eyes.
“That’s just how stupid it was…” She answered, “As I was saying. Nerdy, lame, and about thirty-plus more negatives one could possibly say of this.”
“Yes!” Ophelia clapped her hands together and smiled. “I find that to be an accurate assessment.”
“We get it!” Zealous and Siren replied.
“But anyways, this shows what you both know,” Siren stated.
“Yeah, this isn’t just grass! This is Runic Grass!” Zealous added.
“And wait, have you two been eavesdropping on us?” Siren asked.
“My apologize you two, but how could we not when you were both yelling?” Ophelia asked back.
“Fair point,” They agreed.
“What’s Runic Grass?” Citrine asked.
“Basically you can add it to your cooking water and it gives it a special flavor.” Zealous explained.
“Back where we came from we could only ever read about it and see it in pictures.” Siren continued.
“You people add grass to your meals…?” Citrine question.
“And I don't mean to brag, Sy, but… I think I won today’s hunting match.” Zealous said cheekily while both he and Siren ignored the earlier comment.
“Heh, you’d think…” Siren said with a smirk.
“Well, you couldn’t possibly have something rarer than…” Zealous’ jaw dropped at the sight brought before him. “A Chrome Rabbit?!” He said in utter shock as he stared at the dead creature currently being held by the dark Seraphic.
“So I believe our score is now four-hundred-plus to fifty… if I’m being generous.”
“Heh, Alright, I can admit defeat. But What’s important now is getting these to the nearest stove we can!”
“Couldn’t agree more!”
Ophelia giggled, “It is always refreshing to see you two in high spirit.”
“About grass, though…” Citrine sighed, “Can’t you guys think if anything better to fan over?”
“Didn’t you make us stop our trip for three days so you could hang out with a bunch of ponies?” Zealous replied.
“P-Ponies are way better than a stupid piece of grass!”
