Nightmares aren't supposed to feel this real.

I sat up on my bed, shivering. I've been having the same dream for the past fourteen years, and I'd always forget what the dream was about. But it had become more vivid since the beginning of this month for some reason.

I rubbed my eyes and looked out the window. It seemed thirty minutes to dawn.
I sighed and tried to think of something else. Something that would make me feel better. My parents,  or a relative. Someone I could trust.
No dice.

I shook my head and got read ready to head out.

If I had the chance to, I would have gone back to sleep. I would have forgotten about the world and everything else and lived my day as I would have in the short time I've lived my life.

If only I had known how soon my life would end.
