I used to be okay.

Or well, more like I was better at faking it.

Pretending it wasn’t there to live a normal-ish life.

I was able to fool my parents and other family members,

friends, and best friends.

that I was drowning

feeling like I am pretending to be alive

and the only person that notices the forced smiles

are the random kids in my class.

And I look Caden in the eyes

and say “I am fine” or “I am just tired.”
