Eliza Mayheart, a 15-year-old from New York City is thrust into the world of high magix and sorcery after a ‘stupid teenage mistake’. She gets enrolled at Grimrose Academy, where her signs of high magix are frugal compared to her successful peers. Eliza also starts to have strange dreams. Their meaning remains unclear as she starts to question whether her magix exists, or is just too great for someone like her to control.
