I was eighteen,

old I thought but younger than I knew,

a glimpse of honeydew,

eighteen reasons to remember

and possibly more to regret,

rotten sweetness like cold season

September 18th the date I’ll never forget,

time still since time pass,

I’m indebted to your show,

it was eighteen seconds or so,

changed me forever

the magic of you,

eighteen murmured

more unsaid,

meanings dear,

give me eighteen more

and I’ll be yours,

wistfully reminiscent by the shore,

wishing I remained eighteen

so you’ll remain with me,

lock with key,

would you choose me now

ripe harvest pick,

or am I alone lonely fool?
