The monsters will leave their mark

The workers will leave their mark

The servants will leave their blood-soaked mark

Does your God look away as children cry?

Does your God look away as a mother leaves her child?

Does your God look away when spirits die?

Know the piercing stab of hunger haunts

Know the gruelling grind of toil taunts

Know the gods hurt with us and they feel all that we feel

Know the aching rage of hope still wants

Are you afraid of the dark?

Are you afraid of the dark?

Are you afraid of what’s in the dark?

The monsters will leave their mark

The workers will leave their mark

The servants will leave their blood-soaked mark

Does our desperate struggle make you fear?

Does our desperate striving make you sneer?

Does our love and our fear make you feel so mighty tall?

Does the terror we feel make you feel fear?

You think you should rule this world so wide

You think that the deep dark will subside

You think we should be grateful that you let us exist

You think all of us you can divide
