Sitting on the roof, I stared up at the sky. Why did we always have to move? Where does everyone vanish too? I have asked my family and friends this many times, and all they said was to stay away from them. Though I personally have no clue who they are, I do trust my family and friends.
I close my eyes letting the cold rain sooth my face. Will my life continue to be so fractured, always unsure what is going to happen next, who is going to vanish next? But one I have to keep on moving, cherishing every moment I have with my family and friends like it is the last moment I may ever see them, since it may be the last.
The pain of all my lost love ones seems to have disappeared, replaced with this numb feeling in me. Though strangely, I sometimes find myself crying at the most random times, or sometimes I here screams in my dreams. What are these screams I wonder...although a better question is who do they belong to.
I look on to the bleak horizon, seeing writhing shapes in the distance most likely belonging to them, but what do I know? I lean back on the roof, listening to shapes whisper in a language that I do not know. These whispers I have known my entire life, I have never really known anything else. And when I try to ask someone about the whispers, they say "they can't hear anything."
As I listened to the whispers, a scream rips through the night. I sit up quickly to see a person get pulled into the writhing mass. Strangely I did not recognize this person.
"Did some other group find us?" I wonder to myself excitedly, for I have never seen another person before.
I jump of the roof to investigate, only taking a glance at the old house before walking in the direction that person was running from. Carefully avoiding them, I find myself in a small camp, though there seems to be no around. My hopes immediately fall, when I hear a crash of pots and pans. I spin around to see a creature staring at me. Well the word staring should be used loosely, since the creature had no eyes, and I can only describe it as a creature made of the fears. As I stared at the creature in horror, the whispers started to become a language that I could understand, "What are you doing here little one?" they hissed laughingly, "Your time has not come yet, so you must wait."
I sit up quickly, sweat dripping into my eyes, and I find myself laying in my bedroll.
"Was that just a dream?" I thought, terrified, when my eyes go wide as I hear a hiss behind me.
