這個世界出現少數突變人種，被稱為『棄子』，青少年在十五歲時可以經由血液檢測出來，但是每個人能力出現的快慢程度卻有所不同，而棄子的能力僅限於人體本身能做到或擁有的。

在名叫辛米思的小國內，正要升高中的季允收到了寄來家中的一封信，內容大致是要他就讀培養棄子的專門學校——神院中學。由於棄子的待遇不佳，社會觀感也不好，再加上認為自己沒有能力所以不可能是棄子，他索性翹掉開學典禮，不打算入學。

隔天在校的學姊找上門，經一番勸說下才勉強入學，之後遇到了各式各樣的老師和同學，在這個學校裡適應著棄子的生活。
