遙遠的一千年前，冥世的魔神首領聯合起百妖發動叛亂，成了創世紀以來規模最大、死傷無數的戰爭，但魔神也因此失去了身體而力量大減，變向天世主動求和：談判條件便是『獻祭一具活人的身體，而魔神就立刻退兵，從此的一千年後便不再主動發動戰爭。』由於天界兵力死傷慘重也只能被迫答應此條約，獻祭了一名女孩的身體，而女孩失去身體後的靈魂卻無法再次輪迴，只能在各界漫無目的的飄盪，最後在一名魔偶師彼方的幫助下獲得了一副軀體，並取作*灰*，不知過了幾百年，身為冥世死神一族千金的魈棠與其相遇，展開了尋找真正的自己的故事。
