Chapter 3- Evil Love

I walk around my empty house when I hear a crash and someone's footsteps echo. It better not be teens and kids doing a challenge! I walk to the ballroom to see my father walking crooked and his knee threatening to collapse. "Thanatos Jay, its always about you. Me and Ana always fight about you. She isn't even your mother. This is wrong. Your wrong. I can't kill you though. Wanna know why? Your name holds the family money in it. Your life is who keeps it rolling in. Why must you grow up? Why? If you are a child forever I would be okay with the money. Matthew and Sapphire are so big. Matthew looks to much like you and I. Hes obviously a Locket. More of a Locket then you are. You have white silvery hair. He has the chocolate brown hair with blond highlights. You disgust me, Thanatos Jay. Boy, I hope you are found dead one day."I stand dressed in a white jumpsuit. "You were the weirdest outfits. You have always worn them. Its weird. Do you see other boys dressed in one piece clothing. No! Jeans and a shirt. Not you though. You're weird. Just like my father. Had to make you wear them skeleton suits growing up." I hear every word slur.
Growing up I had all my clothes fixed to wear the pants and shirts were connected. For button up shirts I would unbuttoned the shirt and step in then button it back up. Zippers, buttons, velcro, and straps would keep them together. I grew up very privileged. Things had to be pristine. When I younger you were not to see what was keeping my clothing together. My father slaps me across the face. Then he starts unzipping my clothes. He pulls down my boxers and pulls out his belt. He whips me across the rear a few times before taking his metal chain necklace across my chest and back. I start crying on the ground because if I were to do anything he would hurt me worse. Once I hes his footsteps retreat I crawl to the kitchen. He jacked up my plastic leg.
His assistant stands in the kitchen cooking when she rushes to me. She cleans me up and fixes my leg. "Do you want your wheelchair?" I nod my head. I hear her walk up the workers stairs and come back ten minutes later with my white and blue wheelchair. She helps me lower into the chair. "Oh, dear. I wish I could tell but I am bound by a contract." And I told her not to. It was no use. "I made beef tips, Brussels sprouts, and mash potatoes. Sound good?" I nod my head. She gives me a blue tray and I dig in. She does to. It taste good on my tough that bathed in blood." Do you need anything? I got to get home. My cousin, Dee, and her kids will be over soon." I pull out a notepad and tell her to bring home the extra cake in the fridge. "Thanks, Thor. Maybe tomorrow I can pick you up and you can have dinner at my place. Dee has a son your age and a daughter a few years younger and a son who is twelve." I nod my head. I watch her leave from the door in the kitchen locking as she leaves I roll to the stairs in the ballroom. I feel for a lever to make the stairs not stairs but something my wheelchair can go on. I roll up to the fifth floor and into my room.
Some days it gets too much to walk on my legs because my right knee is bad and the other one is fake from the knee down. My bad knee gives out making my collapse once in awhile. Not very fun being face first to the floor because you are unable to catch your fall. I hate being useless because I am not. I know I can't talk, I have a fake leg, and a bad knee but I am capable of doing so much with my mind.
I decide against a shower. I manage to pull off my jumpsuit before climbing into bed. My phone buzzes from the table.
Hailyee* sleep well, Thor.
Me- I am going to be in my wheelchair tomorrow. I am going to need you to get an aid. Sleep tight, Hail.
Hailyee* WHAT! What happened? Was it your dad?
Me- yes it was my dad. He came drunk and roughed me up bit messing with my fake leg.
Hailyee* I will pick you up tomorrow.
Me- I can drive! I will need your help getting the extra wheelchair out of the back of my car.
Hailyee* fine. Love you.
Me-love you too.

I get in my car using crutches. I start the car and drive on to school. A bit crazily might I add. Teens and parents of freshman fill the parking lot. Parents trying to kiss their freshman goodbye. Couples of all genders kissing. Boys goofing off with their friends. Girls gossiping. Hailyee running no sprinting to my car. I hand her the keys to open the trunk. She comes with my black wheelchair. I lower myself into almost falling. I lock the car doors and start rolling myself to the school Hailyee not far behind.
"Hi, Mrs. Grant. I am Hailyee Harrington and this is Thor Locket. He needs an aid for the day." Hailyee says with grace.
"Will you sign here, Thor?" I nod and sign a piece of paper I sign about a month. She calls someone. "He will be here in a minute." Ten minutes later a tall gorgeous man walks in.
"You called?" He jokes. "You must be my person. I am Kyle Ridley. Pleasure to meet you."
"Hes a mute. His name is Thanatos Jay Locket. He is called Thor." Recognition flashes through his eyes on who I am.
"Well what is his time table?" Mr. Grant hands him a purple slip. "Well, off to art!" He pushes me there. Hes to help reach things where I am unable to. He helps get my supplies and then I stare at the blank canvas all the thoughts deleting from my mind.
I just slump into my chair just wanting to cry. I feel streaming tears over flow down my checks. Then I realize I have started crying.
[FLASHBACK]
Today is my twelfth birthday! My father is taking me to a carnival. "Dad?" I ask from the passenger seat.
"What's up, Thanatos Jay?" He says in his manly voice only I can hope to have.
"Thank you for taking me out since you are always busy with Matthew and Sophie."
"It is your birthday, Thanatos Jay."
"Next year I get to start football for the high school team. They said I looked too young but thirteen and I can play. Just like I am supposed to."
The car lurches forward into a big semi truck. My fathers screams and mine are mixed into the atmosphere. I suddenly can't stream anymore. I feel like sleeping. Thats what I do. I let the darkness make me sleepy. Or am I already tired.
"STAY AWAKE, THANATOS JAY." I hear my father scream at me. I wanna listen but I can't. I just am too tired.

"Thanatos Jay?" A man in a white lab coat asks. I nod. "Can you speak?" I open my mouth and try to but nothing comes out. Nothing. "Just as I supposed. Thanatos Jay, I am sorry to say but you have lost half of your left leg, you where it from the back of the head, and your right knee is bad. We have to check your mouth to see if you can speak. You were out for five days. Two on life support. Three you were okay. Now Nurse Ridley will help you into your wheelchair." I turn my head to see a man with white teeth and a nurses uniform with sports on it.
"I am Kyle Ridley. Call me Kyle. I will be your nurse." He lifts me up bridal style and into a wheelchair. I wish he wouldn't have put me in there. I want to be held. Wheres my dad? Why can't I talk? He wheels me to a white room. They do random tests on my mouth, tough, back throat, and sound box.
"Everything is able to work. Nothing wrong. You probably could talk in time or never. It's all on you, Thanatos Jay. All on you if you can unlock your brain to talk." I nod my head from the news the doctor told me. I make a pretend writing motion. "Need pen and paper?" I nod. He hands me a pen and paper. I scribbled Wheres my father? "Hes at home. He came out with only a few scratches, Thanatos Jay. I will tell him you are awake but you will be here for a few weeks. Then I am giving you how long you must go to physical therapy. It will be awhile before you get us to a fake leg. Which your father had us make a copy of your right leg to make it. It will be a few weeks before we get it. For now you will have a metal one and a cane." Football. I can't play football next year. I just cry. There's nothing to do but cry.
People swarm me and Kyle takes me back to my private room. He picks me back up and back on the bed. My body doesn't hurt. I scribble, Why does my body feel good? Shouldn't it hurt, Kyle. I am scared. Will you hold me?
"You are on high classes painkillers. Wait for it to wear off. It will hurt. And sure kid I will hold you." He answers. Kyle picks me up bridal style and lays on the bed holding my little body. I cry into his shirt not really caring if I get it wet. He doesn't seem to care either.
[FLASHBACK OVER]
"You alright, Thor?" Kyle rushes. I nod my head and wipe the tears away. Just think about the day I was told I couldn't talk and both my legs are screwed-up. And I can't play sports anymore. Just happy thoughts. Yea, totally. I feel worthless.
Mr. Vette looks at me and smiles. He knows I will finish the project just not right now. I just want to go home and eat ice cream. Thats all I find myself doing since I was twelve years old. Eating ice cream. I mean I still exercise to be fit and go on with life but its boring and normal.
I want a change. A change I may never get being the son of Mr. Benito Locket. A man from fortune who has to pass it onto someone in a few years. That someone is his first born. His hidden first born. He just is to stupid at playing games and keeping dirty little secrets a secret for long. Hes kept me hidden for sixteen years from the public eye and his own children yes. But wait for the next 2 years when his eldest is an adult. An adult who is to inherit his money. Old wealth. Wealth from the builder of the mansion. All in my name, Thanatos Jay. If he were to name me something different I would have just been claimed adopted. In my family there is a list hidden in a room in the attic with the names of the first born boys. The ones who inherit money. The other children get none. My father is a smart man but you cannot break a contract until its over due. It is in no way overdue. Not in my lifetime will it be overdue.
The bell rings clear as day and I watch as Kyle pulls out my timetable for take me to my next class. English with the witch.
