Cameo lurched and bolted for the emergency exit, strapping his backpack onto his chest and his parachute to his back. Throwing the red lever, the door swung open and he was nearly sucked into the swirling stratosphere. White-knuckling the edge of the door, he glanced back to make sure everyone was ready to jump. Ethaniel jumped, followed by Harley. Tanner was trying to help Infinity with her parachute, but the straps kept coming loose. Cameo shoved Tanner out of the way and yelled for him to jump. Harley glanced at her tablet. "My scanners aren't showing any missiles in the area until the second they hit us. Jaiden may have advanced tech, but not that advanced."
Ethaniel frowned and got out his pain meds. "Ack!" he yelped.
"What?!"
"There's nothing in here!"
"Wait a second..." Infinity said. "Ethaniel, let me see that." He tossed her the bottle. "There's no label. Where did you buy this?"
"I didn't. I just found it in my bag."

"Oh no. We've become sentient! Whoever is writing this is gonna have to kill us off now!"

He stared at Tanner, bewildered. "I don't know Russian."
"Yup, I'd say we're in a book."
"Harley! You're the smart one, how do we get out?! I don't want to die in here!"
"Well, if we're in a book, that means we're inside a page. Straight up should be the paper, and if we break through, we should end up in the real world. Of course, we might be microscopic on the other side, but that's a risk we'll have to take."

"There's the page!" Infinity yelled. Cameo pulled ahead and flicked his knife out, ready to slash the paper open.
He hit the page and broke through with zero resistance.
He flew clear of the white expanse and turned off his jetpack. He felt himself growing, stretching, expanding to an almost unimaginable size. He landed in a crouch on a blue carpeted floor. He rolled out of the way, seconds before Infinity landed behind him. Soon, the whole gang was sprawled around the room.
"It looks like whoever was reading this is gone," Tanner remarked, picking up the book.
"Let's get out of here. I'm done with having my story written for me." Cameo pulled a can of red spray paint out of his bag. He turned to the wall and popped the cap off.
"Let's rewrite history," he grinned, painting the wall.
