I walk inside the rain letting those tears fall as I ran away from the place I called home. Home, my foot. That place was torture
Lightning strikes a tree making it burnt and tattered. Just like how I am
Broken. I felt agony, pain, sadness at the same time
I just keep on walking to anywhere not like aunt Lisa and my stupid step-sisters would ever care. Heck they wouldn’t even do anything if I got killed today. I’m just all alone, I’ve just had enough of all aunt Lisa’s torture, it was too much.
Everyday my so-called sisters would report me to their mum and blame for every petty thing undone ‘mum Lila didn’t clean my shoes’, ‘she didn’t dispose my tissue paper’, ‘she didn’t do my nails’.
I’m three years older than those devilish twins and they still put me under their feets.
For every complaint they made, they were marks all over my body and I ended up crying, they would either make me work the entire day, make me wear or do something silly in school or spread rumors about me. Aunt Lisa didn’t know her sweet little daughters go to club even when she warned them not to
But what could I say? Do I even have a say?.
I picked up a burnt leaf on the ground and laughed like a maniac, I’m just like that this night. Today I just had enough of it, aunt Lisa took a knife and was about to start cutting my clothes before I ran away. Who would be so evil to do something like that?, definitely aunt Lisa.
My mum disappeared when I was ten years old, my dad got more involved in his study room, he only cooked for me and helped me with what I needed other than that he’s only in his study room. For the first time in three years, I saw the look of happiness on his face the day he decided to get married to aunt Lisa. She seemed like a nice lady but turned out to be a terrible person, a year later my dad died and aunt Lisa and her daughters unveiled their true colors, it alI started with me being the house help then it turned into constant beatings, humiliation and being independent knew I had no place to live in except to go back to Aunt Lisa’s but I didn’t know what to do.

I walked to a nearby clothing store and stayed under it’s shed the entire night. I was woken up by a loud tap on me, I rubbed my eyes and got up to find a woman in expensive clothes “why are you staying here? Don’t you have a place to stay?” The woman said looking at me in disgust. “I’m sorry ma’am, I’ll be leaving i never meant for any inconvenience” with that I left and went back to the torture house.
Oh how toasted I am.
I knocked on the door with shaky hands expecting some beatings before I go to school instead I was welcomed with warm hands by Lizzy, she wore a off shoulder gown and make-up, packed her red hair in a bun and said with a fake smile “we were so worried of you Lila, please never run away again”. “Oh darling, are you hurt? Leila has prepared a warm bath for you in your room” aunt Lisa said inspecting my body.
Just what pretense game are they playing now, I looked at the sitting room to see our neighbor who is a journalist with a camera by his side and a book and pen with him so that’s why.
I stepped into the bathroom and took a long warm bath I hadn’t had since last year, I scrubbed every inch of my body hoping the mystery would disappear by that but it wouldn’t I would end up giving myself scratches all over
I wore my usual baggy jeans and my only crop top, i sold the rest of my clothes and most of them were now worn by my step-sisters. I tied my blonde hair into a bun. I looked at myself in the mirror, my usual white and fresh skin is now pale and full of marks. My hourglass body frame is much leaner with my blue eyes popping out. The only thing that didn’t seem to change is my perfect nose and plush pink lips that Lizzy and Leila are so jealous of. I packed my books and change clothes into my bag, I worked at two different stores and at a bar. I worked for four hours at the stores and two hours at the bar to earn a living for myself.
I wore my nerdy glasses and wore my new black boots I just bought. I was pretty happy with the things I’ve achieved, I’m at the top of my class, i secured a lovely boyfriend no one ever thought about, I’m a pro at coding and hacking, and I’m pretty independent and have saved tons of money from working for five years.
I did my usual house chores and helped Leila and Lizzy with their room chore. I made breakfast and left before anyone noticed.
I walked to my school, crestfall hallway. A very expensive school I got in with scholarship. I walk to the hallway and I saw my boyfriend.
Jason hart, the most popular guy in school. The next thing I saw shocked me, he kissed Lizzy. I hadn’t felt so heartbroken than before my only friend and the one I thought who cared about me just cheated. I blinked away the sobs as Jason’s friends laughed at me and called me all sorts of names ‘cheap’, ‘church rat’ ‘she really thought jasper would ever go out with her’. “I’m breaking up with you Lila, I can’t continue or else you’ll wreck my reputation and I never loved you Lila. You were my play thing, it’s so funny saying I love you when I didn’t mean it, you’re way too filthy”. I ran to the washroom getting stares and whispers from everyone.
That was it, nobody cared about me, the only who cared for me broke my heart and tossed me away and that’s it I’m done being the good girl, done being bullied, it’s time take a U-turn, i’m done being humiliated and I’m going to get back on everyone who has wrecked me.
I stood up from the ground and wiped my tears and i knew just who to start with. I put a smile on her face as I walked out of the room and started singing “I hated the world living in a broken shell, until I met him. Then he just had to break my heart into pieces. I’m done being the shy girl who anyone can climb over, it’s time to unveil my dark side and take revenge, oh revenge”
