The black van stood in the parking. 'Wow! everything is so dark about this Dark center'. Sean followed the man who first pushed the prisoner into the backseat and kept the door open for me to get in. Once I was in, he slid the door closed and got in the front seat. "Clamp her to the bars on the seat." Sean took his order and unlocked the cuff on one of her ankles with a three-digit code and locked it around a rod below the seat. For a few seconds, Sean lifted his head and looked at the face of the prisoner. Among the knotted, grey locks a round, fair but dusty face can be seen. 'It indeed is a girl.' Sean lifted her hands and cuffed them above the same way. "All good. Let's leave." The 'man in black' gestured to the driver and the vehicle moved noiselessly. The van might have looked so basic from the outside but its inside was filled with hi-tech weapons. There were biometric guns, shape-shifting blades, and voice-activated bombs. There were monitors on both sides of the windows which showed the movements happening outside.
Sean sat across from the girl and looked at her. His thoughts ran in every direction and just couldn't stop them. 'What has this girl done to deserve this punishment? As far as I know Dark center is a place for the most dangerous criminals. There the criminals are kept in single cells with no lights or ventilation with barely enough space to stretch their bodies. Food is provided once a day and there is not any kind of hygiene routine. The place is a hell where live beings are sent to die.' Sean remembered the documents he saw earlier. 'Case no. 94. She must be the one who has committed all those crimes. Yeah, I guess she deserves this after all.'

"So, you joined today?" Sean turned to see the man speaking to him. "Here, it says you joined today." The 'man in black' showed Sean a tablet where all the information about Sean was listed. He could see his birth date, address, and even his height. "Yes, I joined today."
"First day and you are stuck with her. What bad luck?" Sean was uncomfortable with the man's remark. "Why? What's so bad about it?"
"Not about it, about her. She is bad." The expression on Sean's face made it clear that he had no idea about what the 'man in black' was saying. "You've got to be kidding me. You don't know her? She is 'Queen', the Odd's Queen." That sentence seems to have made something click in Sean's mind. 'This was her. The most notorious one from the rebellious group Odd.' Sean looked at her and for some reason, he could feel that the girl was smiling behind her long hair. He felt a shiver run through his body. A sinister feeling came over him and he held his breath waiting for something to happen.
As if on cue, the vehicle started to enter into an abrupt zig-zag motion. Before Sean could understand anything the 'man in black' started shouting into the microphone, "we have been attacked. I repeat, we have been attacked. No, I don't see the reinforcements. Send more, FAST." Sean was overwhelmed by the sudden situation change and dumbfoundedly looked here and there. "You don't have to worry about anything just keep an eye on her. They are here for her, to take her." Sean did as ordered and fixated his eyes on the girl. 'They are here for her? Of course, the Odds would want their best member back. But, if they want to take her can we stop them from doing it?'
There was chaos going on outside and the 'man in black' was doing all he could do. On the window screen, Sean could see two motorbikes on each side of the van. The riders were focused on keeping the bikes at a perfect speed to match the van and the ones seated in the back carried different weapons. 'Why are they here with shooting weapons? Don't they know this vehicle is heavily shielded and won't be affected by such low attempts?' Sean realized how wrong he was when a girl shot an arrow from the bike and it entered right inside the van and barely missed the 'man in black's' forehead. 'Shit! How could I forget that they are Odds, the ones with powers.' Sean ducked his head and shielded himself using his hands on both sides, but then he remembered the girl. Yes, he needs to worry about her safety as well even though she is a criminal, he had clear orders. He moved beside the girl and opened her handcuffs, he pulled her down along with him but a sudden buzz made him close his ears. In a flash, the van flew into the air, higher and higher before it crash-landed and rolled on the road. Sean's mind went blank as he tumbled from one place to another in the locked vehicle. After enough damage, the van finally hit something and came to an abrupt halt. The front door was opened and the 'man in black' crawled out, held his stomach and lay down. The passenger door broke open as the chair where the prisoner was uprooted and slid out. Sean came out right after it and looked at the 'man in black'. Blood was coming out of his stomach and he was breathing heavily. Sean managed to reach him while crouching down. "Sir, are you alright? Can you move? Hang on, let me call the medical." Sean looked for his phone but realized he had left it in the office. "Hang on, please hang on sir, I will..." The 'man in balck' tried to get up and Sean helped him providing support. "Don't even bother. I won't survive this, the arrow is covered with poison." Sean has no idea what he should do. "You are in charge of the mission now. Get her to the Dark center and be careful." Those were the last words uttered by the 'man in black' and Sean was too shocked to react. He didn't even notice that the girl who was cuffed to the seat was out of bounds and stood freely glaring at neither him nor the man who was taking her to the Dark center but at the group of Odds who wanted to free her...?
