"The team of Hearts has won the chess game! They will be playing up against the team of Spades! I wish you luck, Hearts. This was a good game. See you in three months!" announced the reporter on the overhead speakers.
"That was fun!" exclaimed Carl, who was finally enjoying the chess games.
"Yeah." agreed Denver, who liked his spot as the King.
"You guys seem too happy. We almost lost. Stop enjoying yourselves so much!" scolded Rae, who was still embarrassed because of her loss.
"Y-yes ma’am." said Carl, afraid of Rae.
"We almost lost because of you, Rae. Don’t act like we didn’t pull our weight. You're the one who failed, so stop blaming us." stated Denver, who was already over Rae’s bad temper and attitude.
"NO! Stop! I-it wasn’t me.. I- ugh!" yelled Rae as she stormed away.
"Thanks." said Carl, who was relieved to not have Rae there anymore.
"No problem." said Denver as he started to walk back into the preparation room to grab his stuff.
"Hi! You did an amazing job during the game! Was it fun?" asked Seraphina as she walked over to Denver.
"Yeah, Rae is just annoying." complained Denver.
"Well, I know some things about her that most people don’t." explained Seraphina.
"Really? I thought you two hated each other." exclaimed Denver, surprised.
"We used to be best friends. Some… things got in the way of our friendship." elaborated Seraphina.
"Oh, right. But, whatever it was that happened, isn’t an excuse for her bad attitude." said Denver as he and Seraphina walked into the preparation room.
"Kinda. Anyways… are you bringing me home?" asked Seraphina.
"Sure." said Denver.
"Thanks! Let me say bye to Delilah and her parents really quickly!" exclaimed Seraphina as she walked away.
"Alright. Meet me at the car." said Denver as he grabbed his stuff.
"Kk!" said Seraphina as she gave Denver a thumbs up and continued to walk away.
