꒱.. In her plush, yellow towel, a chipper Shinju skips into her room as the door creaks open. As she puts together her outfit for her special day, the tune of DPR Live drifts into her head as she hums the tune.
Ah yes, her date with Vasco. The date she had won by bidding on him in the auction.
She grabs her lotion plopping down on her bed sheets to moisturize her body. Her mind is racing with thoughts of her date, excited and nervous at the same time. She has never been on a date before, what is she supposed to do?
But not to worry, she knows the perfect person to ask.
Oscar.
"Hey Oscar," Shinju swivels her head near her dresser to lock eyes with her duck, "What do you do on dates?"
"..."
"Be yourself? The fuck does that mean?"
"..."
"Oh, got it! So wow them with cuteness but try and be myself?" Shinju scratches her head as she tries to make sense of the advice. Maybe Oscar isn't the best person to go to.
"Uh, I heard that guys like sexy girls. So maybe I can try to be sexy?" Shinju shrugs at Oscar as she approaches her crystal-clear mirror. Shinju tries a variety of faces, but they all seem unnatural to her.
"Stop biting your lip, you look stupid."
Shinju squeals with shock as she rushes to the comforting carpet of her room and gazes at the early arrival of her guest.
"Sammy, what are you doing here? And why didn't you knock? You scarred me ya know?" She pouts.
Samuel scoffs as he leans on the support of the doorway, "Firstly, who called me for a ride? Secondly, you would've heard me if you weren't being weird as shit."
"Oh well, uh you look nice," she sheepishly smiles glancing at his creme suit that hugs his muscles.
He rolls his eyes checking his watch, "C'mon Shinju we have to go."
"Okay okay, hold on let me grab my purse, sunglasses, and oh my jacket," she scrambles to get up.
"I already got your jacket, come here," he beckons her over. She slips on the matching slightly oversized suit jacket, turning around to lock eyes with Samuel before smiling widely. The simple gesture makes her giddy.
"C'mon Sammy, or we're gonna be late!"
Samuel mumbles under his breath as he turns off her light and closes the door to her room before following in the energetic girl's footsteps.
"Shinju slow down!" Samuel yells after the frantic girl, but she doesn't hear his warnings as she slips down the steps. Shinju gasps in surprise as she feels a pair of strong hands save her from the nasty fall.
Samuel glances down at a dazed Shinju, "I told you to be careful, hmm?" She meekly nods her head before they make their way down to the car.

Shinju's veiled eyes drift from object to object as Samuel's car speeds down the grey road.
"Shinju, I meant to ask you earlier, why are you so dressed up?" Samuel questions her attire as he steers with one hand.
"Huh? Oh yeah, I won a date with someone at school," Shinju plays with her hands in her lap.
"What do you mean you won a date?"
"Uh there was an auction, and blah blah I bid on my friend cus people were being mean. And now we're going on a date today," Shinju sums it up for Samuel.
Samuel's eyes immediately lower as Shinju finishes speaking. Samuel scoffs and speeds up making Shinju glance at Samuel as he stops responding to her.
"Sammy, did I say something wrong?"
"No," he coldly answers.
Suddenly the wise words of Oscar the duck come to her.
"Sammy, are you jealous?"
