　　百年前，隕石「大雲」墜落地球。自此，世界陷入長達百年的「異獸災難」。


　　從隕石墜毀處生成的蟲洞，為在異星生存的異獸開啟通往地球的通道。嗜血殘暴的異獸憑藉巨大身軀，以及能夠釋放「火」、「冰」、「腐」和「電」能的超能量，將所經之處破壞殆盡。用盡所有致命武器的人類只能放棄大半土地，在重點城市周圍築起鋼鐵牆掩飾存在。


　　災難十年後，名為「科瑟」的地質學家偶然發現一種神祕黑色液體「魔方」。人類腦波是啟動「魔方」的關鍵，連結者能將魔方變形成除了碳基生物，任何能想像出的武器、載具、防護網，甚至是機甲，用以消滅異獸。


　　自此，連結者組成「魔方軍」，與異獸展開無止盡地戰鬥。維爾科‧葉門，一位剛加入魔方軍的新兵，在一次意外下得知災難竟能終結？然而與之而來的巨大陰謀和生離死別的激戰，他和同伴們的選擇，最終將為世界帶來什麼樣的局面？
