I've been running and hiding on repeat for what seems like hours. There's a cabin in the distance. I shouldn't go in there. That's what my intuition tells me. I ignore it and go to the cabin. I hear voices inside. A shiver runs down my spine as the coldness of the wood hits my ear.
"You know, your wife made some very bad people, very angry."
"I understand that, but there's nothing that I can do about that now can I? What my wife did behind my back was not of my knowledge." I know that voice. It's Mr. Williams.
"Are you that stupid as to not kn-"
"Not stupid. I just trusted my wife."
"Which makes you stupid."
"Actually-"
"You're really starting to aggravate me." There's a long silence. "Tell me the password to your wife's phone and computer and we'll call it a day."
"I already told you, I don't know it." The man lets out a scream. I pull my ear back from the wall and move around to the backside of a cabin behind a bush. I'm still within earshot. My intuition told me to hide just in case they were expecting visitors, and this time I listened to it. The man is still screaming. It sounds like they're beating him. I put my hand up to my mouth and choke on a gasp. I can't let them know I'm here. I look back up at the cabin just in time to see someone running into it.
"Damion. Sorry to interrupt your little torture information out of people session, but, they're almost here. We have to get into position."
"You got lucky today. Don't worry, I'll be back for you." I watch two people exit the cabin and walk off to a car. They get in and drive off. I wait a few seconds before leaving my hiding place. I suck in a deep gulp of air and enter the cabin.
