After solving Starswirl the Bearded’s unfinished spell, Princess Celestia gives Twilight the opportunity of a lifetime: ascension to alicornhood. Twilight turns down the offer, but soon finds herself in the middle of trouble as an ancient evil resurfaces, and it's not long before things quickly go to pot. 

But as Equestria's darkest hour descends, there are hints that there is a chance at stopping Lord Tirek before he can completely dominate the land.
