Since I've started about a week ago, everybody was astonishing and generous towards me. I started to open up a slight bit more to everyone, including Damon. He seemed to be there for me whenever I'm at the library or the cafe, wanting to know me more.

 Earlier during the middle of the week, there was this attractive fair hair girl who tried to grasp Damon's attention, even though he wasn't engrossed and said she wasn't his type, he told her to move on from her senseless crush. My eyes widen at the scene, as I felt tremendously humiliated for the girl, which occurred in front of a crowd for the duration of the dinner hour, at the time. She ended up having a boyfriend from one of her classes, who I felt sorry for. He was trying to satisfy her. Even though she was very good-looking, she was one of those stuck up girls who think there better than everyone else. I wonder what'll happen to her in many years' time. Probably having plenty of children, with different fathers in addition to receiving benefits or she'll end up working in McDonald's. 

 Everyone seemed to have opened up to me a little bit more. Shannon confessed to me she had liked Jack for quite some time, which I responded it was very obvious to me and speculated why she hasn't asked him out yet, to which she said she was waiting for the right time. I then started to tease her in a high pitched voice, saying Ohhh Jack, you have such pretty eyes. She just blushed for the majority of that moment and swiftly moved to a different topic vastly and elucidates me about her family, saying that they were 'wonderfully weird.' She furthermore stated me that she was daddy's little girl, but despised her father's side of the family, due to both her parents past. I didn't push on and asked her about it. 

 Chloe was on one occasion, a rebel and tried to get her family's attention, because she seemed that everyone desired her older sister to her, until one day she found out that her sister had a heart condition and was mostly in hospital. Due to her being young at the time, her family didn't want her to see what her looked until she demanded them one day to take to see what her sister viewed like; wires coming out of her body and needles too. Ever since then, she changed her ways and tried to become stay strong for her.

 Jack said he lost his parents at a very young age, which he had a sister, but he couldn't recall what she looked like and questioned if she was alive and well. He was adopted when he was about six years old and was brought up to a wonderful family. I beamed at him for being brought up with a heart-warming family, unlike me, who was physically abused. 

 Max was close to Damon and it wasn't because they were related, but they remained best friends. They grew up together, since they were young and practically told each other everything, as well as what occurred to Damon's family.

 Damon informed me that his parents were having a rough patch until his mother caught his father cheating, with another woman. Damon didn't go into major details, which I respected mostly, but explained to me that his father started to act strange one night and started to vanish every so often. His mother got suspicious and found out the truth. Damon provoked his father to get the truth out, but he seemed to avoid every question and walked out. He only sees his father every now and then. You could tell it was hard to tell me everything. I informed him, only tell me the rest when you wished to, do not force it out.

 The weekend mainly consisted with studying and food. The others asked me to come along with them and head to Hollywood Bowling but I refused. I wanted to get caught up with my studies before I start going to places. I know people would have said 'take a chill pill' or 'relax' but I didn't want to. I wanted to continue what I was doing before here, even though I wanted change and look forward to the future. I didn't want to change that much.

 I was currently in the library, searching for the famous photographer Ansel Adams. He was one of the reasons why I got into photography. Sarah, one of my classmates, was sat alongside me as well as reading about stars and planets. She was at this time reading about the full moon and writes within her diary when the each of the different moons comes out per month. She was studying it for her artwork. Too many, this was either over the top or monotonous to understand, but to Sarah, she took her time and was very passionate about it. She used to go star gazing with her father when she was young and wanted to take her hobby moreover into her work.

 "You know Lucy, it's a full moon tonight," said Sarah, while jotting notes down from the hardback she was reading and didn't bother liking up at me.

 I observed her and decided I wanted to give my eyes a break from looking too hard at the books. I twisted around to face her fully, and replied, "Really? And let me guess, you're going to take photos?" I smiled at her, trying not to shake my head at her.

 Sarah looked up to me and laughed, "Am I really that predictable?" 

 She shook her head and sighed, "Yeah but I can't help shake the feeling that something is going to happen tonight. Don't know why like, because nothing major happens here."

I felt my eyebrows frown in confusion, thinking to what her words actually meant. When I thought about it, I agreed with Sarah's words; something is going to happen tonight. My instinct was telling me something was going to happen. Something big, but just what was it? This was the same feeling I had a week ago during maths. Mr Salvador avoided any questions about his family at the present time and so people just let it go for a bit and got on with their work. He seemed more moody than ever according to many people, but his club was still open to his fan base has Damon calls them and the people were still hyperactive about it. No wonder most people hate hearing about it. Weirdos. 

 "What kind of stuff usually happens here like?" I asked her, studying her blank face. Sometimes she was hard to understand, because she was of those people who kept herself to herself. We were library partners, meaning we only talked here and kept each other company during the library times. We may exchange a few 'Hi's' now and then, but that was all.

 "Um, usually it's just fights, people getting suspended or detention. So honestly it could mean that something like that was going to happen," Sarah shrugged and went back her book.

 I just stood there, confused to what information she has just given me. The bell for the end of the day rang, and I jumped a mile as I wasn't expecting that anytime soon. Sometimes I was having too much fun at the library that I wondered how time actually does flies by. I wished it slowed down at times. I grabbed my belongings and said goodbye to Sarah, to head out to meet Shannon and the crew. 

 We had free time now, since our day has finished, so Shannon and Damon went to back to art class to get there work done, Chloe was doing her maths coursework in her room, Jack and Max were chilling out at the cafeteria, while I went to the library to get some research done. I went to librarian, Mrs Bean who scanned my books to take out. She smiled at me, knowing I was becoming a regular here and was becoming one of her favourite students to come there.

 "More books to take out Lucy?"

 "Unfortunately yes," I laughed and scratched the back of my neck, sheepishly.

 She just smiled and gave me back the books.

 "Thanks," I said and walked off. 

 I hurriedly strolled out of the library and through the double doors, leading to a corridor. Rushing by people, I accidentally hit people by their shoulders. There were too many students here. Turning left and two rights, I ran down the stairs and I was at the cafeteria. I stopped and looked aimlessly everywhere to see if either Jack or Max were still here. Neither of them was here yet, so I began to make my way to the queue, to grab some snacks, since it was getting late and it was nearly 17:45.

As the week began to progress, to when I first started, I calmed down quite a lot and didn't become as nervous as I was, only now and then, because I didn't know how the day would go. 

 Everyone was friendly and welcoming, apart from Lee.

 I bumped into Lee twice this week as well, which was very awkward. The first time I was rushing out from the library, because I was supposed of me meeting Jack to head to the Hungry Palace for tea, when everyone was either out shopping or were taking a midday nap and Lee came out of nowhere. I ran into him which my books came fleeing out from arms. He stood there, watching me fall to the ground. He didn't bother apologising and just walked off. Jasmine somehow was there and saw the commotion. She was glaring angrily at Lee and her innocent, happy vocal words turned into a sailor's mouth for about five minutes. I just looked at her, very shocked at such words that were coming from her. I thanked her anyway. The second time was walking with Shannon and she left to get something from the vending machine, while I said I'd wait for her beside the doors next to the reception. What a bad idea was. The door burst open and I was flung against the wall. Lee and his crew walked through and saw me slid down the wall, with my hand against my chest from the sudden scare I had. Lee and his minions just saw me and laughed at me, also calling me a freak. I sat on the floor with shock across my face and felt sudden rush of horrified memories flooding back to me. Memories that I didn't want to remember. Shannon came back and saw what happened. Rage came across her face and screamed at Lee. He just flipped her off and walked away. Shannon asked if I was alright. I was shaken up. I told her I was fine, but she only nods, not believing me, but she didn't want to press on. 

 Apart from that, this week went alright and I was looking forward to the rest of the year. I was moving forward with my life and I was becoming happier and smiled unusually more than I have ever done. I made friends who have accepted me and I was finally getting somewhere. Tutors were nice and the Principal called me twice during the week, to make sure everything was ok and how was I enjoying it so far. She beamed at me, when I said I was enjoying my time here already. For once in my life, I was finally happy. Happy.

 "Earth too Lucy?"

 I snapped out from my thoughts when I noticed it was Shannon and Jack who were stood beside me. 

 "Ohhh!" I jumped back, knocking someone behind me slightly.

 "Oi Lucy, careful where you going," warned Damon beside me. 

 I turned around to see him, as well as I apologised to him, "why are you guy here?"

 "Because some people mentioned food plus we all decided to The Hungry Palace and celebrate your first week here," Jack beamed excitedly also pulled me out from the queue and guided me through the doors. 

"Can I have my arm wrist back please?" I snorted.

Jack sheepishly laughed then said yes to me.

I noticed it was another beautiful sunset here and I could see the stars trying to come out tonight. The nights are getting darker and I saw the full moon, trying to come out from behind the clouds. The sky was a hint of both reddish purple and dark blue, with gold dots, sparkling through the night sky. 

 "The sky looks beautiful tonight," I said out loud to myself. 

 "Indeed it does," Damon appeared beside me, crossing his arms and observed the sky with me. He didn't say anything yet I looked at him slightly, turning my head to the left I saw him smiling slightly and taking in peaceful breaths. 

 I felt my mouth curved a bit and my eyes softened at the sight. There was comfortable silence between us. 

"Okay guys we can stand here and watch the grass to grow and the leaves whither but I don't know about you guys but I'm starving so I'm going to get some food."

Damon and I turned to see Chloe with her hands on her hips, looking at us with a pout on her face. We all laughed and started to head towards The Hungry Palace, as the moon emerged over us, behind the murky clouds.

I was currently lying down on my bed, in the darkness. I left my curtains open because I couldn't be bothered closing them after I got in after tea. I had a good time with the Shannon and everyone else. I had lasagne for my tea, as I couldn't decide what I should have instead. I left my clothes on since I have just come in about half an hour ago and I couldn't be bothered moving from the spot.

 The boy informed us girls what they were up too; pulling pranks on Lee and his friends. Apparently, they put worms in their spaghetti bolognese when they weren't looking and snuck quickly out of the room. We heard rumours when we came back that they were throwing up and crying. They went to see the nurse, who the college have actually got and asked her if they were okay. She informed them they were, because they didn't eat any worms but they got permission to be sent home until further notice and try to get the person or people behind it caught. 

            We said good luck to the guys before heading to bed. I had a fun day today and I could have slept easily if it wasn't for the yelling and screaming outside my door. Suddenly, someone started to bang against my door, to which I had to get out of bed in an unexpected grumpy mood. 

            I grabbed the door handle and yanked it open, to see a nearly crying Shannon, who looked petrified and looked as though she had seen a ghost.

"Shannon-"

Shannon grabbed my hand and pulled me out from my room, and ran straight down the corridor and down the stairs. I noticed that every girl in this dormitory was running down the stairs, in panic; screaming and crying, with dear.

            "Shannon! What's going on?" I yelled across to her and hopefully she heard me above the screaming atmosphere.

 "Lucy!" Shannon yelled, while guided me down the stairs, "Someone had started a fire and it has spread across to the inside of this building. We have to evacuate from the building immediately-"

            Abruptly, a smashed window shattered across the floor and let some breeze into the building, but so did the bloodshot flames.

            "Oh my god!" someone screamed.

            Everyone was pushing and shoving to get out of the door, out into safety. 

I was somehow, no longer holding hands with Shannon and had to use my instincts to get myself out. Another bang was heard, but this time, it came from the vending machines. I didn't realised I was already down stairs, on ground floor, all because I needed to get out from there as soon as possible. 

            I finally squeezed through people and through the doors into the cold air. It was freezing. Moreover I was extremely happy I was out safely. I started coughing, not realising that the smoke has somehow mocked up m breathing. 

            "Lucy!"

Some lad cried my name; however I didn't take noticed as I was trying to control my breathing. I bended over and place my hands on my knees and closed my eyes. I had a sudden dizzy spell.

"Oh Lucy, you're alright," whimpered Jack, with relief across his face. 

I rose up and noted that Chloe, Shannon, Jack and Max were stood in front of me, with troubled eyes that were filled with concern across each their faces, were looking at me. They too remained in their clothes from tea time. 

"You're ok," breathed Chloe, who looked as though she was in tears.

We all overheard a loud explosion from across the place and watched over; the boys' dorm was now starting to set alight. I turned around and saw tutors, students, the Principle all standing around in horror, as they were trying to get as many people away from the place. I saw a few students still running away from the building. People were hugging each other and standing beside each other, wanting for this nightmare to be over.

Looking back, I noticed that Damon wasn't with us and I was starting to become worried and sick. Where was he? Another smash of glass was heard from the building. I heard from afar, a fire engine was coming our way.

 "Where's Damon?"

Jack and Max looked at each other and a sudden realisation was filled across their faces, "Oh no. Please say he's not inside still..."

No, he can't be still inside, "You didn't think it would be wise to grab his arm pull him out from there?!" I screamed. I was panicking and my stomach felt bad all of a sudden, with a hint of dread.

"Oi! It's not our fault he didn't come with us! We thought he was right behind us!"

A different eruption happened, "We have to get him," I said and I didn't know where this sudden burst of confidence came from.

Shannon stepped up to me, with a flash of anger across her face, "What? Are you stupid Lucy?! You can't go back in there and save him; that's totally absurd!" 

"Then what shall we do? Leave him in there to die?"

"No! I'm just saying that we should wait and let the firemen save him when they get here!"

I stood there, with my nose flaring out with anger. My parents died from a car crash, which exploded into flames. I don't want another person to die into ashes. 

"Listen Shannon; I rather go and save me friend! I know you think that's stupid, but I have to go! I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"

Then I turned and ran.

I heard many people booming my name to come back, people were trying to grab my arm and let me stay put. I didn't stop running. I was forcing myself, to push myself to the limit and save a friend.

"JACK! MAX!"

I quickly turned briefly and saw both Jack and Max running behind me "Were going to help you!" they both shrieked. 

I turned around and entered the burning construction of flames, to save Damon.
