　　「雪山飛狐續傳」乃續寫金庸大師之「雪山飛狐」未完的結局，並將「飛狐外傳」的人物與故事回到主角胡斐的記憶之中，因此包含義妹程靈素、袁紫衣等等過往事跡，都在這部續傳中融合為一，不再是兩部獨立開來的故事結構，所以要能看懂這部「雪山飛狐續傳」，讀者諸君們須得看過「雪山飛狐」、「飛狐外傳」兩部金庸原著，方能迅速融入續傳故事的劇情之中，否則可能看得一頭霧水，更無法感受作者何以要來拾人牙慧的花上精力來寫這部續傳了。

　　胡斐的前半段人生是極為悲苦的，他雖愛袁紫衣，但命運卻早就註定他們無法在一起，就像程靈素一直深埋在心中那份對胡斐的感情一樣，都是屬於痛苦中的愛戀。金庸雖然在最後安排了苗若蘭與他私訂終身，但雪山飛狐那沒有結局的故事卻隱然伏筆著兩人很難有美好的結果，胡斐的那一刀究竟劈是不劈，長久以來始終沒有個定局，這是金庸編排劇情時的刻意安排，並不代表故事就必須在「胡斐的那一刀劈是不劈」中來結束。小說作者在寫作時，通常會有許多考量，有時卻也會發生作者被劇情帶著走的詭異狀況，但大體上來說，是否非得這麼寫不可的決定權，最後終究還是要回到作者手上的。
