There was once an innocent rabbit who was born and raised on the outskirts of the forest. She always followed what others thought and was afraid of other people’s opinions. Her only friend was the cunning fox. They would play for hours at a time until the fox got bored and sent his friend to go explore the forest.

So, she went through the forest hopping though the bushes and exploring this new area. Until Rabbit came across her first animal of the day. It was the wolf, whom she carefully approached.

“Hello, Mr Wolf, what are you doing?” she asked.

“Oh, hello little bunny. I’m brushing my tail,” the wolf responded. “It needs to be magnificent and is so much better than your little fluffball of a tail!”

The rabbit nodded and went on her way through the forest again. Small thoughts about changing her tail to something like the wolfs creeped into her head.

The rabbit soon came across a new animal, anyone could hear her jabbering from a mile away.

The rabbit followed the voice and was then led to Mrs Peacock. She was known for being proud of her feathers and trying to tell everyone to get them.

She tromped through the woods more, thoughts clouding her head. Maybe she should change? She would look better, Rabbit thought as she continued through the woods.

She later arrived at a new area. There were fences. But sitting atop one of the poles was a rooster. He had an odd mouth… or was it a nose? Rabbit couldn’t figure it out.

“Oh, are you talking about my beak? Well, it’s quite amazing. I love it. You should have it. It would be much better than whatever you have going on there,” he said, casting a disapproving gaze at her nose.

Rabbit was feeling dejected now. She wanted to change everything about herself! So, she did.

She stopped at the graveyards to get what she needed for her project and then headed home, preparing herself for what she was about to do.

First, she chopped off her mouth and replaced it with a beak, then shaved off her fur and placed feathers along her skin. Then her final change came. Chopping off her tail and using a wolf tail.

The next day she returned to the forest. She showed the peacock, rooster and wolf her new changes. But instead of praise, she received horrible responses.

In a last-ditch effort, she went to her friend, the fox, and asked, “Do I look horrible? What do you think of me now?”

Rabbit became disappointed with herself. She couldn’t tare away her feathers, beak and tail now. She had to live with what she had done. Unable to deal with all the shame and embarrassment, the poor rabbit chose to seclude herself in her home, never to be seen out in public ever again.
