A light wind blew lazily through the trees, sprinkling the early morning dew on the grasses below. As the sun slowly crept up the sky, the animals began bustling about. The birds, whistling to one another from branches and tree tops. The lizards, scurrying quickly across open ground to disappear in the dense grass. Bats flew about frantically, hoping to get one last meal before retiring to their darkened dwellings. A snake slithered here, and monkeys chattered over there. A ripe fruit fell from its tree and burst on an exposed root below, sending flies swarming for the fresh meal.
