PROLOGUE
~Two Weeks Before~
As we stand in my room, Seth stares at me with sad eyes, our noses almost touching. We've been together for 2 years and I don't want to lose him now. He's been acting weird ever since Summer break. I just wish he'd share with me what he feels, what he thinks...
"Jess..." Seth whines. "I'm sorry, I can't do this with you anymore."
I look into his eyes."What...what are you talking about?" I stutter out the words. I'm not sure what he means by his words, but something tells me he's leaving me.
"I'm...I'm just sorry. Everyone keeps looking at me like I'm Crazy. I was embarrassed." He fights out his words.
"Embarrassed? By what?"
"To be seen with you around school, okay!" He takes a step back.
I can feel tears taking up the corner of my eyes. I glare at him expectantly. "So let me get this straight. You are embarrassed to be seen with me because you have asshole friends. All because you started boxing and now I'm the unpopular one. I'm the one who suggested boxing for your anger! AND we've been getting stared at our entire lives. Have you met us! Look at us!" I already start yelling by the last sentence.
"Whatever..." He hesitates.
I'm trying so hard not to cry. I just want him to leave me alone. This is so random of him, and stupid. He makes absolutely no sense right now. "Get out." I practically whisper, just enough for him to hear me.
"Jess.."
"GET OUT!" I push him out of my bedroom door and lock it.
I can hear him breathing heavily on the other side. His combat boots stomp as he walks down the hallway and out the front door. I slide down my door and bury my head between my knees. I cannot stop crying, I don't know how. How could he do this to me. After what felt like an hour of crying, I stand to my feet and grab everything that reminds me of Seth. His hoodie, our pictures, even a song he wrote down for me. I carry it all to the kitchen trash can.
"Why... I just don't understand it." I cry to myself.
"Understand what?" My sister's voice sounds behind me. I jump and drop everything in the trash can.
I hurry up and close the lid. "Um...nothing Liz!" I lazily half smile.
"I would keep his stuff, just in case. It's great fuel for a fire one day." She winks and walks away. I open the lid and stare at the items. I pick them up one by one, trying not to burst into tears.

CHAPTER 1
It's been two weeks without him. Every time I walk past him in the school hallway, his friends fake cry in my face. He just stands there with 'I'm sorry' eyes. Life is stupid! Everyone is talking about our break up and I feel very vulnerable. I'm just the school story. 'Is this popular enough for you!' I think to myself as I do laps around the Gym. I shove my headphones into my ears and turn on some cheesy, sad, angry metal love song. As soon as the main verse starts to get stuck in my head, a girl runs up to me and pulls at my headphones.
"Hey! You!" I take my headphones out and she hands me a note. I watch her in confusion as she runs off to someone else, handing them a note as well. I sigh and open the note.
'Party at Johnson's house this Sunday!' It says.
I groan and toss the note into the trash can as I walk by. The last thing I want is to go to some popular person's party. I Hate high school! But seriously, we are the best couple.
