Still?, You don't breathe, Still

When I close my eyes,

I still see you.

I cover my ears but still hear your lies,

I still hear you.

I flinch from your touch,

But you aren't there, so why do I still feel you?

Why do I still love you?

Your touch is cold.

My breath smokes in the winter air,

but you don't breathe.

My fingertips go numb,

but you don't notice.

My eyes are hurt by the bright light,

but you don't blink.

I wrap myself in layer after layer,

Why should I love you still,

when you lie still,

in the still air of your coffin?

Why do I find myself longing for you,

needing you,

loving you,

still - after all these years?

wrote these in about five minutes so definitely gonna reread and think it's rubbish later

i'm making use of the fancy line now that i figured out how to use it!
