這個故事本來始於一個簡單的構想：一個築構於公主和騎士基礎上的愛情故事。

在設計世界觀、地圖和人物角色時，感覺不經意間這故事變成了《異世龍皇傳》的精神續作，以至不少的同名角色都跑到這個世界來，以略為不同的形式繼續留下他們靈魂的軌跡。

《肋骨》始於我寫作生涯的第七八年，有著先前的各種嘗試得來的經驗，故事世界都成熟了不少。尤其是當中的眾角色，再對比以往他們在《異世龍皇傳》的身影，我多少有種父親的欣慰：他們成長了。我的操辭遣字也變得成熟了。

原來《肋骨》的構想是三部曲，但因為人生階段的關係，我實在是沒有足夠的時間完成三部曲，只能把這完成了的首部曲分享出來。也許哪天我的人生來到比較有閒的日子，可以再度執筆譜寫這奇幻的愛情故事。
