The moon leaks from his eyes

and each drop tells his story;

How the weight of the world

was rested on his shoulders,

how he felt with the trust of his family

and how much it hurt to leave them.

The sky strains and bends and breaks

and collapses around him.

Pinpoint holes in the night sky

rip apart into galaxies of blue light.

Stars dance through his fur

as it glows and ripples gently,

as if it were the ocean.

As midnight strikes,

he howls

for the ones he left behind.
